Hatted rotors for stock 1LE brakes
does anybody make a 2 piece or hatted style rotor for the stock 1LE brakes? The brakes on my 1LE are plenty for what I do with the car, but I am ready for rotors and pads and I was looking for some high end rotors to put on the car if there were anything. I didn't see any through the usual manufactures

I tried them, and was told they quit making them a few years ago

Ideally I would like something with a hub with a slide on hat and removable rotor from there

You could try piecing something together. You would need to know rotor thickness and the rotor centerline relative to the hub face. Then check the aftermarket catalogs to see if anyone makes a rotor and hat combination that is the correct diameter and thickness on the rotor and the right offset on the hat to get the centerline and thickness correct.
You can buy hubs at bigbrakeupgrade.com as a starting point for the hat measurements.
Expect to spend 4 or 5 times what a stock rotor replacement would cost though. Factory front rotor can be found for about $50 each. By the time you do hubs, hats, and rotors you're probably looking at close to $500 per side with replacement rotors going for $150 or more each when they need to be replaced.

I think he's talking about a multi-piece brake rotor, but without modifying the stock spindle.
