Big brake upgrade.

Re: Big brake upgrade.
I am in the middle of this right now. I am having a problem with the emergency brake shoe clearance.
I cannot push the driver side axle in far enough to get the C-slip in becusas4e the hub of the axle is hitting the e-brake shoe. This doesn't seem the be a problem on the passenger side because of how the ring gear carrier is designed.
Has anyone run into this?
Thanks
TJ

Unfortunately not. Once the c-clip is installed, the clearance between the hub and the e-brake shoe is so tight, you wouldnt be able to slide the shoe in (i tried) or even bale able to install the ebrake show retaining clip.

Well, I had the backing plate on backwards. Once I switched them, and bend that e-brake shoe ever so slightly, i was able to sneap the c-clip in. AND get it back out, which is key. Chalk this one up to not paying attention.

Good to know it worked out. Whenever you're finished and ready to show it off, be sure to post pictures. Everybody LOVES pictures!
