proportioning(combination) valve question

So one of the ports stripped out on my proportioning valve to the front brakes. I am planning on a temp fix to get my car on the road and have a quick question. I have all the parts needed to Tee off the front lines and bypass the valve for the front. I was going to continue to use the proportioning valve to control the rear and leave the front holes unhooked. My question is if I maintain the valve for the rear and leave the front unhooked from the M/C will it leak from the valve? I would think it must be completely separate chambers. Is the valving between the front and rear inside the prop valve completely separate/isolated?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Re: proportioning(combination) valve question

The combo valve shouldn't leak with all of the front ports open. However, due to the age of the valve it may.

The differential switch will close and set the brake light, so unplug the connector until the valve is replaced.

Re: proportioning(combination) valve question

Thanks for the reply. I am going to order a new one, but I'll give it a shot with a Tee for now. I guess I'll know if it leaks pretty quick.
