Idea for correcting LS1 brake upgrade offset
Hey all,
I searched and came up with a couple of threads but nothing that suggests this idea.
So modifying an otherwise stock J65 front hub with the LS1 brake upgrade positively offsets the wheel .300" or so due to the thickness of the rotor hat.
For the rear wheels, I've seen numbers from +12mm to +16mm offset in the wheel itself. This is is .649"
My questions is, could you use two "rear" wheels on the front of the car with 1/4" spacers to achieve near factory offset?
Would this look weird? Would it clear the ls1 caliper?
The only downside I can think of is that it would say "rear" on the front wheels.
Anybody have any experience with this?

You can run rears on the front, and yes they have rear stamped on them. I have my GTA rims reversed w a 1/4" spacer on the front and it works fine, but idk about the rotor swap being just right for what your asking.

Do you get any kind of rubbing in the rear with front wheels on?

No. It actually makes them sit farther out from the fender wells. GTA's are probably more noticeable than most of the rims because when they're on right they look backwards (deeper in the front, more shallow in the rear), so reversing them makes them look right, you just have to use a spacer in the front w stock parts because the rear rim hits the tie rod end. There may be no issues with what your doing. Running rears in the front works fine and doing what your asking may work w/o a spacer?
