Re: Post your brake upgrade pics here!
I installed a 13" BAER black label kit about a year ago. ALso my rear is a ford 8.8 which came stock with 11.5" rotors, I put new stock calipers, cross drilled/slotted zinc washed rotors and organic pads. All brake lines have been replaced and run different than stock. Stock proportioning valve is gone, front brakes are Tee'd right off the master cylinder, recently installed a summit line lock for the track. Rear brakes go through a SSBC adjustable proportioning valve. all custom lines, mostly stainless or copper annealed (wayyy easier to work with/bend and will never rust or corrode like stainless, but 50X easier to flare and bend etc). BAER kit came with alloy hubs and braided lines.
2nd pic shows the old SLP 17" ZR1 rim which gets swapped out for the ford anthracite 17"x9 with 275 rubber and a 1.5" billet custom adapter.
3rd pic shows the rear 17"x10.5" ford anthracite rim and 315 rubber, car now has all the same rims

Re: Post your brake upgrade pics here!
from what I've read, the full c5 setup wont fit, but you can run LS1 pads/rotors with c5 calipers, as long as you use LS1 brackets (both the slider bracket and the aftermarket one that mounts it to the modified spindle).

Re: Post your brake upgrade pics here!
But yes, those are 1LE rotors and calipers and they fit perfectly under 15x7 factory wheels. They are as large as you can go without getting creative.
The only thing to swap are the brake lines and I added speed bleeders.
My brakes were taken directly off a 1LE and put on mine so they were still dirty/rusty when pictures were taken.

Re: Post your brake upgrade pics here!
It's bolt on to the C5 adapter racket. It uses a cut down std rotor hu, use the z06 rotors and calipers and done. All bolt in deal. Any C5 or C6 caliper will interchange as the bracket for our cars mimics the mounting pattern on the C5/6 spindle. The differences in rotor diameter are incorporated into the abutment brackets or in case of the C6Z06 the caliper since it's a fixed one without abutment.

Re: Post your brake upgrade pics here!
whats up guys im trying to to the rear ls1 swap. im just having trouble figuring out the brake line situation . my 86 iroc already has discs .i have the new calipers, ebrake/parking bracket and shoes. i bought the custom ls1 ebrake cables from ed miller and brake lines but the brakes lines don't really seem to be matching. hopefully i didn't buy the wrong ones need to call back and ask.
I was just wondering if someone can post up there rear brake lines if you've done the rear ls1 swap thanks guys

Where are you guys getting your big brakes from?
I need something to fill up my 18's in the front. Have an ls1 rear end with the 12" brakes, so rear is done.

I was actually thinking of doing that. You know how these calipers bolt up? they dont have threads like my brembos do

Re: Post your brake upgrade pics here!
You really need to mount rotor and fiqure out what bracket would work ..there 2 options you can mount them with 2 brackets ..kinda like the big brake kits offered in aftermarket but difference is that there brakes are radial mounted and use a special bracket to mount them so you have to do the opposite .since you have the mounting ears ..
or depending on bracket design you can use self locking bolts that the VW guy use to mount to their golfs
it really depends on hub your going to use and brake rotor
You really cant do nothing till then as this is going to make a custom bracket ..
so get on it lol

Re: Post your brake upgrade pics here!
That is quite the curious combo there. I assume that is a C6 Z51 rotor? If so, the Brembo pad is taller than the friction surface of the rotor. What are you doing about the over hang.

This thread is in reference to Z06 rotors, but its the same issue with Z51 rotors.

Re: Post your brake upgrade pics here!
I'm not doing anything extra about it. The overhang isn't as extreme as the pic in your link. It's less than .100" towards the hub. I don't see a huge problem with it. Main issue with the upgrade is the double left side z51 rotors. Again, I'm not worried about it
