82 PROP VALVE

i have an 82 z28 cfi with rear drum and i think my prop valve just went out. the caliper keeps hanging up on the driver side. i replaced both calipers and rotors and rubber break lines and it still does it. can anyone tell me if it is the prop valve, and if it is where can i get one thats NOT universal. mine is rounded and has 5 lines. Please help

I'm a bit confused (natural state): You mention drum rear, but then discuss calipers and rotors. I'm assuming you meant disc rear. If so and if only one side is hanging up, I'd attribute the problem to the flex line or the caliper.

Re: 82 PROP VALVE

I think he means he has a drum brake rear, but his trouble is with the front discs. The prop valves are different between rear disc and drum setups.

Ah, you're probably correct--and yes, of course, the combination valves are different, especially the OP's which would have SAE fittings instead of metric. More about that here:

Still sounds like a line or caliper problem.

Re: 82 PROP VALVE

I changed the calipers rotors and the rubber brake lime in the wheel well and bled the brake lines and checked for a clogged break line and had nothing so prop valve is the only thing I can think of but I can't find one
