IIRC, DBA rotors are ~$120each and
the Superlite 6 calipers are in the
$400+ range each. Then there's the
machining of the hubs and the bracket
to adapt the calipers to the spindles...
Like I said - TOO much....

then there's the clearance problem with the "little" off-sets on those rotors ... ever notice that 3rd gen's rotors drop in
about 3-4" ... vette and 4th gen rotors only drop in .5-1" .. so the outside of the caliper WILL rub stock wheels ... or you'll have to run spacers or 4th gen wheels .......stand back and look at the WHOLE BIG PICTURE .... there's a perfectly good reason 1LE's look like they do !!!

Sorry, I never intended to imply that these
would work with 16" 3rd gen OR 4th gen wheels. I am planning on this "swap"
REQUIRING custom offset 17"+ wheels.

Yes the 6 pistons are pricey , but I also have plans to fit a billet Dynalite so it should bring the kit well under 1K. Terry just wanted the bigger calipers because he has to be different I dont Know of any 16" wheel that will fit with the 6 piston caliper.

Road Tech,
I'm outside D/FW, where is Princeton from here? I'm also interested in the Six piston kit. I'd like to help out if I can with this project. Just let me know if I can be of assistance. cyZ28@prodigy.net

Thirdgens handle better than Fourth gens????
that has not been my experience. My wifes Camaro handles worlds better than my firebird, and that is not simply due to age difference. (88 Formula vs. 97 Camaro) Her car drives like it weighs 1000 lbs less than mine, the body is tighter, handling is more crisp, and precise than my car would ever hope to be stock.
From what I understand, this is due to GM using a "glue" on the welded seams, instead of simply a sealer. There is almost zero body flex, and that is with absolutely NO modifications. I can only wish my car handled that good, and it handles fairly well as it is.....

Almost no body flex?? Are you smoking something???
Have you never pulled into a steep driveway approach?? The body flex in these cars is so bad you can feel it in the seats. The reason that your wife's car handles "worlds better" than your car has alot to do with wear and tear, and wheel/tire selection. Go to any hard core road racer, and they'll tell you that the front suspension on the Thirdgens is far more suited to spirited driving than the Fourth.
"Almost Zero body flex" ...hmm where do I start with this one.. Subframe connectors.. ever heard of them? There's a reason that you put on these little jewels. if the car didn't need some help in that dept., do you think that everybody would make them? Zero body flex is impossible. Look at a winston cup car, With it's ladder frame and tube chassis the car is still subject to torsional forces. Find me a unibody car with no body flex and I'll give show you a car that has far too much metal in it to weigh less than 5,000 lbs.
By the way, what suspension mods have you done on you car, how long since your last alighnment, and finally what size/brand/type of tire are you running?
