upgraded brakes
87 formula 350 TPI, stock 4 wheel disks, car had really shitty breaks to begin with and i couldnt get the wheels to lock up
this is wat i did...
-new SSBC force 10 caliper upgrade kit front
-new slotted and cross drilled rotors front
-high performance pads from SSBC
-new bearings and seals etc front
-russel braided stainless lines all around car...no rubber lines left
-blew out all hard lines before doing any upgrades seemed to be no issues
-new brake booster
-rebuilt master cylinder
-ripped out stock combo valve and put in Tee for fronts and SSBC proporting vavle for rear
-brand new stock replacement calipers in rear
-had new pads on rear before new calipers and didnt want to change them bc i havent upgrades the rear rotors.
-complete fuild change and bleed of the entire system, i bench bled the master etc before installation, all new high temp fluid
ive done all this and still the brakes have gotten better but i cant get the front wheels to lock up!!!! AHHHHH! i can stop ok but with the front setup i should be able to lock the wheels up with no prob and i cant....the only thing i havent changed out is the stock hard lines. i have vacume even tho i dont think its all that great.... anyone have any idea's...?

Re: upgraded brakes
As I just found out, make sure the booster to master push pin tollerance is correct.
Do you know the history of the car? Check the part numbers also make sure the master and prop valve is right for the 4 wheel disk.
Can you lock up the rear?

Re: upgraded brakes
You can't lock up the wheels or are you just not smashing the brake pedal? If I remember right you have some pretty wide tires with lots of traction. I wonder if you're just not getting aggressive enough to find the limits and there's actually more braking capability that you're not tapping in to.
If you really want to see if the fronts will lock then totally screw up the bias by dialing the rear brakes to near nothing. If fronts don't lock under that condition then it's time to measure brake line pressure.
How does the pedal feel? Does it sink at all if you push hard and hold?
