Drivers door removal(risk to hinge adjustment’s)

Hello everyone, I’m in the middle of prepping my car for a new paint job. I was wondering do I have a risk of knocking the hinges out of adjustment if I loosen the bolts. I know that gm cars are a nightmare to readjust. Here are some pics, I would greatly appreciate some help

Re: Drivers door removal(risk to hinge adjustment’s)

In order to paint a vehicle completely, doors, hood, truck lid/hatch have to be removed. Back in 2009, I had my '72 Buick GS repainted. I had removed the interior, glass, exterior trim, etc. The body shop remove the doors, hood, trunk lid & separated the door hinges from the body & doors. Any capable shop can reinstall the door & hinges & align them properly.

Doors are easy to remove, and to my knowledge, there's not a lot of adjustment on the body side. I've had my doors off on a few of my thirdgens and never had any issue with realignment. They were always as good as they were when removed. An extra set of hands it more less mandatory though.

Hinges are welded to the doors. Iirc, the body side has a small hole on top and bottom that doesn't allow for much adjustment unless its been drilled bigger.

I'm right in the middle of prepping for paint myself. I already tackled replacement of the door bushing. No need to worry about alignment too much on these cars. As previous posts say, there is not too much adjustment on the hinge flanges that bolt to the body. Just scribe where the hinges are bolted into the body and remove. With the help of a set of extra hands, and or an engine hoist.
