Wiring/adding passenger 5th gen power seat

Looking at adding power 5th gen seats to my IROC. I know that for the driver side, all you need is the power and ground coming off the original chassis harness. You don't have all your other 5th gen only sensors, etc. etc., but the seat movement is all there. Seems like just adding a power and ground connection for the passenger would be pretty simple. Am I thinking this through correctly?

If you want the OE diagrams, message me with what year seats you're looking for and I'll send them over.

Pretty sure there's no wiring for passenger seats

I did this. All that I did was extend. The power from the driver side

I'd like to get the heated seats working but don't know what's required for wiring/switches etc

When I did mine, I just extended the drivers over to the passenger.
Seems to be working fine, both seats adjust like they are supposed too.

Just looked through your build thread… those seats look great in there! Did you have to remove the T-tops to get them in? I’ve got a hard top and am looking at 5th/6th gen seats for it, but I’ve only seen them done in T-Top cars.

Thanks! Ya I've really happy with how that all turned out. The seats are so much more comfortable compared to the 3rd and even 4th gen seats I've had in there.

hmm, for the T-Tops. I honestly don't remember if I took them off or not. I may have just to make it easier on me to get them in, but I don't think it would be required. They are big but I think they would fit into a hard top, someone else may need to chime in on that though.

Do you end up sitting much higher than stock? I attached some pictures of stock seating height in a 1989 Firebird base for future references!

I'm only 5'9 so to me it seems to be about the same. You can raise these seats a ton, it's kind of funny how high they can go.
but I'm not sure how low they are compared to the stock ones. I'll take a look tomorrow and see what measurements I get.

Thanks in advance! I am just a hair over 6'2", and my head is just about in the headliner in the stock seats. I just don't want to spend a ton of money on Gen 5/6 seats only to have them not work for me.

Re: Wiring/adding passenger 5th gen power seat

I'm 6ft. The 5th gen seats are really tall compared to the stock 3rd gen seats. I have a convertible and my top is always down so it doesn't affect me much, but I do see the difference in where my eyes are compared to the windshield .

I thought about having the seat foam shaved down an inch. My concern is what the seat will feel like afterwards. They are really comfortable right now.

Re: Wiring/adding passenger 5th gen power seat

Here are some photos,
In these photos I have the seat all the way in the lowered position.

I normally have it raised up some.
