If I were you, I'd leave it off. Pretty sure it requires drilling holes in the bumper. My State, (Texas,) requires a front plate, but I've decided to take my chances. Not going to F up my bumpers.

I have an original on my 88' GTA and wish it was without it as it has holes in the bumper, I too would take my chances and place it in the front windshield area. The front plat holder screws up the look IMO.

I knew a guy once who would ran without it. He "lost" the original. He then applied for a "replacement" through the secretary of state, so he had that paperwork to show, if needed. Strangely, that darned replacement plate never did show up in the mail.
