Product review - Eastwood hole repair kit

Just wanted to throw up a quick review of this: https://www.eastwood.com/no-weld-hole-repair-kit.html

Years ago I replaced my passenger door and unfortunately the best donor available was from a firebird that had several extra holes for the firebird GFX. Finally got around to ordering two of these kits to plug those holes and the results were great!

Easy to use, just need a skim of bondo when you're done then primer/paint.

Re: Product review - Eastwood hole repair kit

I was looking at welding in some 22 ga to cover the antenna hole. I was reading that doing anything else could cause expansion/contraction issues that eventually reveal the patch.

You are saying you just did this so you don't have any history with it yet right? Looking for others comments on if years from now the patch is going to pop out. Thanks.

so the patch is on the inside of the body panel and is made of fiberglass. It sticks on with 2-per epoxy which in my experience everywhere else doesn’t shrink/expand. (I used a similar compound to fix the headlight panel in the nose years ago).

Bondo can shrink if not properly mixed.

This wouldn’t work well for the antenna hole though because the fiberglass is fairly rigid.
