Best new reproduction fenders? Carbon Fiber doors?
Are these from Hawks a good fit for my 91 Formula? Mine are all dented to hell and I want minimum amounts of body filler when I paint this thing soon.

Also, has anyone run these Ultra Carbon doors and/or hood? They are super expensive but I'm willing to spend the money if they really do allow full functionality of the OE power windows and door locks etc. The weight saving from our heavy doors would be phenomenal.

If you want proper fit and good quality track down used GM fenders, the reproduction fenders are notorious for poor fit that you or your body man will have to correct. Also they are not known to be the highest quality of steel( China). By the time you factor in the frustration/extra cost in making them fit you would’ve been better off with used GM.
Hawks has used GM ones available too but see if they can send you pics so you know exactly what you will get. I purchased my used fender from Camfire Dave in Buffalo, NY and it was good quality and he provided plenty of pics. Shipping is what kills the cost on these, was easily more than the fender.

Everything I've seen used has small dents that need to be corrected anyway. You think there are used pieces available that are completely straight? That is what I found when I tried to find used doors which is why I was looking at the Carbon Fiber ones.

if you look hard enough you should be able to get something pretty close, seriously the fit of aftermarket fenders are lousy. I would rather fix small dents or better yet have a paint less dent guy remove them. The cost of that should be pretty reasonable if you find a clean fender.

I heard there is only one manufacturer... Goodmark??? of the fenders... they fit "ok" but you need to play around a lot. Then again i also had a bear of a time lining up GM fenders!
if you can get them cheap locally....like maybe a body shop can order them....... might be worth a shot.
you still might have dents and imperfections that would need to be filled though.
There was a thread about those carbon fiber pieces before... they said it was a nightmare to line up.....
