Tail Lamp Lens for 1987 Firebird
Hey everyone, this is my first post on the forums but I’ve been browsing around for a while before that and I’m happy to join you guys.
That said, I have a 1987 Pontiac Firebird that needs a new left tail lamp lens (some Ford Explorer wasn’t watching where he was going and backed into me). The car is new to me and while I’ve always loved Pontiac sports and muscle cars, I’ve never really looked into them beyond surface level until recently. I have a few questions (some are probably a little dumb so sorry about that lol) that I was hoping some of you guys could help me with answering:
1. Is it possible to remove just the tail lamp lens and put a new one on? The light works just fine, only the lens is broken.
2. Where is the best place I can get a reasonably priced preferably undamaged replacement? I’ve looked around places like GM parts bin, eBay and classic industries and haven’t really seen anything that fits both of those, and when one does, it’s always for the right side.
3. What is the general consensus for the best shop manual for the 3rd gen firebirds? My Hayes manual has proven to be pretty unhelpful through all of this and with some of the other things I’ve had to fix with the car.
Thanks for taking time to read all that, and I look forward to being a part of the community.
