Oem is best. Hard to find now. Soft seal or metro are others. I prefer the softwr metro. Soft seal tends to be stiffer.

Re: Best aftermarket weather stripping

After I did my t top seals, I had my car on jackstands, with the front wheels off and my car got caught in a torrential downpour. It was the only time it has been in the rain in years. I thoroughly checked the interior after it stopped raining and there were no leaks. Do your research though. Proper installation is essential. Even the most expensive GM NOS t top seals will leak if they are not installed correctly. There are some good threads on here as well as a good video on Youtube.

This is the video I followed. The poster is also a member here.

I installed Metro a few months ago. And I'm very happy!! With them. Super Chevy did a write up on this and that's what I used and seemed to work great

Not to be confused with OER, which is apparently the worst.

Re: Best aftermarket weather stripping

So...a couple years later, how is everyones seals holding up? Would you go with same brand or something else?
I'm going to be purchasing t-top and door seals soon.

Re: Best aftermarket weather stripping

OEM is the very best and nearly impossible to find.

Soft Seal is very good but not quiet as good as OEM. It's probably the best of the aftermarket. My local body shop had a very strong preference for Soft Seal.

Hawk's Motorsports premium weather stripping kit is very good. Not quiet Soft Seal. However my local body shop liked the kit and said it worked nearly as well it would just take a little longer to "set" so the doors closed just like with OEM weather stripping.

My restored T-top 91 RS has the Hawk's Motorsports best weather stripping an it's excellent. Six year and seals well and the car doesn't leak. It was professionally installed and adjusted. A+

Re: Best aftermarket weather stripping

Thanks for the reply. I've read good reviews for OEM, Softseal, A1 and Metro
Anyone use Steel Rubber Products?
Any other opinions?

Re: Best aftermarket weather stripping

I believe thats what most of what A1 is. The ones I was looking at on their site were Fairchild and some were DIY.
