Steel cowl hoods

Recently someone had hit my car and crushed my driver side feneder. So while it's at the body shop I figured I might as well get some other work done too. My car is a 91 so it has those side skirts/trim/ground effects (whatever you wanna call them) and I want a STEEL cowl hood, or any steel hood. Anyone know a good place to get one?
The other thing is I hear 4 inch cowl hoods are hard to drive with, will this he the case for me? I'm 6'2" and I think I sit high enough in my car to be able to see over it, or would it still be a pain? This car is a daily driver for me. Thanks!

Oops forgot to include why I said my car has those ground effect thingys. Theyr both broken from the previous owner and I'm getting them replaced.

Re: Steel cowl hoods

I have a Goodmark 4" cowl hood. It's easy for me I'm 6'0" but my wife at 5'0" hated it. personally if I did it again I would try to get a 2" if they make one. Over all I like it, the fit and finish is light years ahead of the POS Harwood hood I had plus it does not shake at speed.

I've been to queens a few times, it takes me about 4 hours or so to get there. Is it a camaro hood or firebird? Idk if I included that I have a firebird and I think I saw that you have a camaro. And what's a 2 inch cowl look like? I wanna make sure it stands out a bit.

Re: Steel cowl hoods

I used to live in Allentown and spent some of my childhood in a little place called Perkiomenville. A one horse town in the sticks. Loved it.

Sorry, but I could not find a steel cowl hood for a Firebird.
Here's my 2in Steel Cowl Hood from Goodmark. It slopes up to 3" at the rear vent. Gives you some idea as to what a 2" Cowl would look like.

It says that hood weighs 132 lbs!! Is that really what they weigh or are they including the shipping crate too?

It is a heavy hood. That is probably the shipping weight though. My hood doesnt feel 132lbs, I recently removed it for my LSx mod. My friend who helped said it was a heavy hood.
