side view mirror glass shaking
Hey guys,
So last week i was driving and heard something shaking and found the glass portion of my driver's side view mirror was bouncing around. not the housing, just the glass. the passenger side doesn't shake around. Is there a way to make it stop? I thought it disconnected from something inside so i tried to push it inward but still loose. I already searched with no results.
Thanks.

Re: side view mirror glass shaking
If it's the same as my brother's '84 Corvette, the mirror is held by a rather flimsy little "cross" kept in place by flimsier notches, if one of them is broken, the mirror becomes loose...

My 91 has screws that hold the glass in place behind the mirror. You'll have to move the mirror around to it's limits to see them. They are hiding in behind the mirror in the pod. But you should be able to slip a philips screwdriver in there to get at them. Cover your screwdriver shaft with tape or something that will keep it from scratching the paint on your mirror pod.
