New 88 iroc-z

Check out my iroc 88 i got it as a part car for my 89 rs convertible. I want the rear end and wheels sway bars some of the body parts and so on . Now i am have a hard time take it apart it is way more rust free then my rs as my rs i had to do some patch work welding in metal on the floors last summer. I almost want to weld in subframe connectors and swap the convertible parts on the the iroc. that's why i posted this in the body forum. the iroc is a 350 700r4 that is locked up from overheating. I have not tryed to unlock it yet have not had time. I will post up a picture of it and its RPO Code and my rs as well. Tell me if you see any thing rare in the rpo code as i have not looked up all the codes yet. This make the 8th third gen camaro i have owned. 4th iroc. What would you do ?Name: IMG_0067_zps9b826202.jpg

Re: New 88 iroc-z

Personally, id keep them both... if that is absolutely NOT an option, id sell the iroc to someone as a project, and find a rougher one as a parts car. If that doesn't work either, id keep the vert (although that's a tough decision). Id love to have a vert.

Re: New 88 iroc-z

Yea i was think about keeping them both till i find out what to do i know i am not selling my vert. They are way to hard to find! I mean the under side of that iroc is nice not a spot of rot. same with the body. the body on the one side had about 5 hammer marks on it. The guy i got it from said his gf hit it with a hammer when she was mad at him. an the iroc fount and back bumper look warped has waves in it . Next week i am going to try to get it to unlock when the rain stops around here

Re: New 88 iroc-z

That IROC looks wayyyy too nice to part out. If both were mine, I'd sell the Convertible and fix up the IROC, particularly as you say the Convertible has rust issues. Keep in mind that I hate base model cars and convertibles though if that makes a difference.

Re: New 88 iroc-z

what parts are you looking at taking from the IROC ?
Im moving from Hawaii to Texas and I have to leave my 92 RS here. the sad thing is that no one wants my Camaro, this move came much faster then we thought it would, so mine is in the middle of a front suspension upgrade/mod, and just to much $$$ to move.

so after you take everything you want what will be left? hand how much $?

well rent is $3,000. for 1500Sqft, a big garage is 480 Sqf. plane tickets are 6-900. each to see family, milk is $4.85/gal. a loaf of is $3.??, shipping for a car hood $475. I can go on.
I do love it here but it is time to come home so I can do some racing, get my Studebaker on the road, drive the '64 Impala SS, oh and be a grandpa!
that sounds funny I'm 46, but my daughter is 26, and has a masters in early education.
