Need help fitting my fiberglass 3" Harwood

I received my 3" bolt on Harwood today. It looks absolutely phenominal. Only thing is that on the left side of the hood where it comes down to meet the fender, the hoods edge seems to be bowed out a little bit too far, not allowing the hood to drop all the way down into the fender just on the cars left side.

Any advice on how to solve this? The fenders are already moved out as far as they will go.

Pictures are linked below

THANKS!

Re: Need help fitting my fiberglass 3" Harwood

You can measure the hood, square it, and take a few measurements down the sides (fender to fender direction). Basically, figure out if its actually bows out. Also compare the measurements to your old hood.

If its bowed, you can either repair the bow, or adjust the panels to hide it.

To adjust you can try to move the hood towards pass side. You can open it and try to push it over. You can try adjusting the hinge to hood, loosen the bolts and slide it over. You could shim the hinge to body, several different ways. You could equally shim behind it (drivers side) and try to get the hood kicked towards pass. You could shim just the rear and try to "rack" it towards pass.

What it sounds like, and with limited pictures, is that you have no extra room to go towards pass side. So, you could try move the fenders out. If you are out of adjustment in the holes, they could be grinded/filed and elongated. Just remember to weather proof the holes afterward by brushing some touch up paint on the bare metal. On show cars that wont see washing or weather you could apply grease. Iirc, there is a lip on the upper frame rail on thirdgens, so in theory you could move the fenders out to the lip.

If you get the fender out farther, then your door to fender gap will be off. Doors adjust in an x pattern. So, say you get the fender out and try to move the upper front door to match, the rear lower door will shift in. The simple thing to do is shim the bottom of the fender out, the move the forward part of the door out. If you move the front of the door out the rear (door) will
move in which can be adjusted with the striker.

If it was my car, and the hood was bowed, I would repair the hood.
