Have a 91' base firebird and I was just wondering how hard it would be to install these ? and are the functional on the cars that came factory with them ? Any close up pics ? If they are fictional pics of the "other end" thanks !

I was thinking I could put masking tape down where I would have to make my cuts in the fender to keep the paint from flaking and just cut a hole n whamo done

They aren't functional, and not really very cool looking since they are a plastic insert. It's easy to cut a hole, but to make it fit the factory plastic vent the hole has to have a flange as well. If you just want the look it would look better to have actual vents cut in the metal, will take just a little fabbing.
The factory plastic vents are hard to find in good shape now, so get some before you cut the holes.

yeah it's going to take a bit of fabricating if your going that route. Not sure why you want to do that to your car if it didn't come with it originally. When i first bought my GTA i thought about replacing my fenders (which no GTA came with,) with ones that had them, but that wouldn't be stock and changes the visuals. I guess since i owned a 87 TA it had them and always thought they were cool looking and wanted that. I always wondered if they are really functional once they were cut open from the inner wheel well. The fender extractors were carried over from previous generations, the 70s had them, and the 69 TA had them and were funtional. Good luck on your decision

Well I've never actually seen them in person just in pictures on this forum and always thought they looked cool ... But I would definitely have to make them functional if I went through all the trouble to put them in
