BRA COVER
Good morning,
I was wondering where is a good place to buy a Bra cover for my 92 Formula? getting it repainted and tired of the rocks messing it up...
Thanks,
Danny

Re: BRA COVER
A bra on new paint will wreck it. Look into clear protection films, 3M and others make them. You may have to wait a few months before applying it over new paint. Cut to fit the nose of the car and you can't even notice its on. It will protect just as well as a bra, peels off when you want and doesn't look ugly like a black bra.

Re: BRA COVER
When I read the original post, my immediate thought was, he probably lives in a desert. Then I looked at his location, and... yeah. But people who don't live in deserts don't understand the kind of abuse a car is subjected to on a daily basis.
Clear "protection" film sounds good, but it won't protect against the pounding the front of a car takes from rocks in desert areas. I'm not saying it won't help. But films aren't invincible. And prolonged desert driving will expose a film's weakness.
If you rarely drive your car, then go with a clear film. But if you drive it regularly in desert areas, the front of a car will get beaten to death, and a bra will protect it much better than a film.
That said, the edges of a bra will leave scars and abrasions on the paint. They can be polished out, but you can keep them to a minimum by not leaving the bra on all the time, or at least by removing it from time to time to rub them out.
But yeah, whichever you choose, give the new paint some time...
Also, finding bras for 3rdgens is getting difficult. Apparently you've already learned that.
Edit: just found one for a 91-92 currently for sale right here on TGO.

Re: BRA COVER
I'm one of the few people that (while understanding the possible abrasion damages and color discolorations), prefer to have a bra on my car. I like the way they look and the overall protection they provide. I leave them on all the time. You can still find them, but they have gone up in price so I would suggest looking at different suppliers. Sometimes you can order them through your local parts store and save on shipping. Here you go.....

Re: BRA COVER
A lot of people make the mistake of leaving the bra on the car when they wash it. Make sure to take it off otherwise all that dirt gets trapped under it. Clear film helps, but not sure about larger rocks. I know a buddy who put film on his front end and a couple days later hit a bird lol.

Re: BRA COVER
Thanks for the replies, yes tired of the beatings from the sand and rocks out here. I see LeBra is out there has anyone tried anything else like Coverking or Covercraft?

Re: BRA COVER
It's horrible. Don't buy it. My old LeBra fit nicely and it was made nicely. The new one is cheap crap, and the fit is awful, nothing like my old one. So I returned it and traded a few emails with Covercraft, where I basically told them to hire children to make business decisions because whoever is currently making decisions is an idiot.
Unfortunately, LeBra, Wolf, Colgan Custom and Covercraft are all owned by Covercraft. So I was hesitant about trying any of those brands because they're all probably cut using the same template. I have no idea what someone was thinking when they redesigned the LeBra. Back then, I think all those companies were different. So the redesign probably came about when they all consolidated, and for cost-effectiveness, I'm guessing they settled on a design that works for all 4 divisions. But that's just a guess. But what's not a guess is that the current LeBra sucks.
What I ended up doing was taking my old one, which fit nicely, to a local upholstery shop, and he's using it for a template to make a new one. We also tweaked a few things for better fitment, attachment and appearance, so it'll be more like a custom-made bra that I know will fit. I saw the progress on it yesterday, and it's very nice! Well, nice for a bra. I mean, it's a bra, so it's not like much can be done with it lol.
So if you're set on a bra, check into Coverking. I recently saw their name and checked them out online. It sounds somewhat "custom," so they might have something decent to offer.

Re: BRA COVER
I've used a Wolf Bra for 28 years. Still original paint. Front end is perfect. They provide excellent protection from bugs and chips. Bugs wipe right off. These need to be used properly. They can't stay on all the time. Keep them clean underneath and don't get them wet or wash the car with them on.
They are really difficult to find new ones now.

Re: BRA COVER
I had some samples sent to me from Coverking, not bad they have 2 outer patterns and looks pretty good. I put the samples on the ground and took some heavy rocks and blamo it didn't break the vinyl. They say they make them for each order so hopefully it works well... Wish me luck.

Re: BRA COVER
It might get pricey but you could use the clear film to protect the car from the bra. That makes since to me.
