My Ebay "Score"
I found this part on ebay, a lower airdam/deflector for a Firebird Formula. This is a NOS part from a GM dealer parts liquidation, about $65 shipped. Not sure if $65 is a great price but mine is pretty beaten up and I'm not sure I'll run across another original GM one soon so I bought it. It'll look a lot better than the one that there now, so it's worth it to me.

Re: My Ebay "Score"
I have an NOS one that I could have sold you for about 45 bucks. In fact- Hawks still carries them.

That part number you bought has been superseded with pt.#10118485
Not a bad price anyway with free shipping.
The one that is hard to find is for 82-84 Trans Ams without ground effects. That is how I wound up with an NOS Bird deflector. I bought the wrong one.

Well, it's good to know some are still available. Looks like the one Hawks has is a GM part. With shipping, it's about the same as I paid for the ebay part so I came out ok. At that price, it might be good to buy a spare, the real; ones won't be available for ever and the do get damaged easily.

Re: My Ebay "Score"
You definitely got ripped off. I paid half that for mine from the dealer back in 03. If the dealer or auction house or whomever was charging that much, it's no wonder why so many gripe about the cost of NOS parts...
I have both corner deflectors (between the radiator support, fenders, and front bumper cover) if you want them, P/Ns 10118488 and 89. Bought all 4 pieces at the same time from the same dealer. However, I'm not selling the lower and upper center I have as they have been coupled with the corner deflectors from a 91 and will be used eventually.

Re: My Ebay "Score"
I really wasn't looking for an air dam, I was looking for some other parts when it popped up. I had just been under the car that afternoon an noticed how beat up mine was, so when I saw that it was an original GM part, I decided to get it. I hadn't researched it and didn't know that Hawks and a few other places were still selling original ones for $45-$50 + S&H. With shipping included, what I paid for the ebay part was about the same as it would have been from Hawks. If I had been actually been shopping for one, Hawks would have been the last place I'd look because most of their trim parts seem to be reproductions. It was a surprised to find they have the real GM part. I don't know when they went out of production, GM must have made them up into the 2000's. But I can tell you I scan ebay about every day for parts for my car, and that was the first one I can recall seeing listed there.
