Very nice. Any reason why you went from the aero spoiler to the normal flat one? Is it painted in flat black?

I love the air dam look. I really need to get my side pieces installed.

had a few reasons for the flat wing...

1 my old aero one was toast and literally crumbling ...

(still have the lense and socket from it I'd sell cheap to a member if they need one)

2 I think the wrap around types look like crap...always have...

3 I got the old style wing for 30 bucks from a guy up in GCS who has tons of parts...

wing is flat black...toyed with doing my mirrors too but not so far yet...

I like how it blends with the black bumper trim & the air dam and my last FB had dark tail light lense covers and I was thinking of getting them for this one too...maybe just go to the tint shop right down the road and see what they say about it...prolly a fraction of the cost..

paint could have come out better but it's OK for a driver and I didn't have to pay more for it than I did the car itself as the shops were bidding on it...

Used Nason base/CC cost me about 500 bucks all things considered...

Looks like you took a "Formula" and made a "Firebird". To me, one of the best features of the formula is the rear spoiler. I also love the two tone color scheme. Now, with the base wing, and single color paint, it looks like a base Firebird. But that's my opinion!

Re: Got the paint on

I like the looks of the smaller wing a lot better.

But, as Scott said, that's my opinion.

I have the color codes for the two tone and may yet add the silver...but imho that red stripe looked hideous...

I always thought the older T/A's with the flat wing looked better...

that aero wing has always looked horrible to me personally...but I figure any real 3rd gen enthusiast will recognize the car for what it is...

besides maybe

Sorry...hit the wrong key...

somebody with a base bird 2.8 or 305 who doesn't recognize the rims and wheels will wanna run me and I can make some of my paint money back then :-)

thinking I don't really want those big decals either...

no accounting for taste...

best...

Re: Got the paint on

IMO, the aero wing is the best looking, most functional wing to grace a bird. Removing it makes your car look like a base model. To each their own though. Of course I also love the Mecham wing.

My sentiments exactly :-)

before and afters

thanks for the input if anybody has more send it on...

maybe one day those poor aero wing lovers will become enlightened and realize the older type T/A flat wing rules... :-)

ruled on the old T/A's...still rules on any bird...

imho of course..

best to all
