Minor restoration issues...
So I bought a 1985 Camaro, it is in great shape but some things can be improved upon.
1st driver door lock, spins, and doesn't really work, I just go in through passenger door. I am planning to just order replacement locks and see what things are like inside anywyas, the originalls are a little rough anyways.
Next the bezels around my headlights have some surface rust, I was just going to clean them up and repaint satan black.
Now for tricky stuff. The t-top bar is a little rough, not horrid. What is involved in removing, cleaning up and repainting. I am very familiar with 4th gen t-top setups and I did a t-top conversion. I know 3rd gens have a different setup. Is it as simple as pull strippings, and t-top bar. I might paint the entire t-bar assembly.(my car was repainted, you can still see a little of the old paint under there, I would paint satin black)
It seems like its coated, not so much panted.
Also the hood louvers, are in good shape but do seem like they are coated. Could the be painted or even "plastic dipped"
As you can see the louvers are in great shape, but not ideal.
Lastly, where is the adjustment for the rear hatch? Mine seems to be too far aft, it even needs a little slam to a shut. When you look at marks on the catch, you see 2 distinct wear marks. one is more aft, like the hatch used to be about 1/4-1/2 in forward and everything was lined up better. Years ago, when I had a 85 base camaro, I replaced the glass to hinge bolts. I am assuming those bolts are the adjustment?

Re: Minor restoration issues...
Its nothing special in terms of rarity, its a 1985 LG4 5-speed t-top car. But its not stock, it has been non-factory repainted, so its cool but nothing rare. Exactly what I want, so I can tweak it some and not feel guilty. Its almost like the car was very half assed restored.
