Re: anyone building a clone?

I am making my 89 RS into a 87 Z28 clone, so far so good!!! I parted out my beloved 89 Iroc-Z 5.0 TPI 5 Speed speed that was rear ended. I pretty much have transfered all the suspension pieces and drivtrain into my RS, but i never tell nobody its the real deal. I just love the 87 Z28 blue and silver ground affects look, I love how unsuspecting mustangs, and Iroc-Z's dislike my RS's new found ability lol I even have gone the extra mile and purchased a 87 camaro black Deluxe interior, overhead console, badges, louvered hood, and grid tail lights!!! Only dead give away is the rear seat belts, vats, and the vin lol

Re: anyone building a clone?

many have & many i'm sure will . nothing wrong unless one tries to push the car off as something it is not . my car is an R/S , it may look like an IROC/Z28 car but i don't try to push it off as one . with all the aftermarket improvements i would say mine is better than an IROC/Z . when i got new paint on mine i needed new GFX badges . i searched and got plain silver ones from an 88 S/C that just say CAMARO . anyway if it is , it is , the VIN will tell all . i have seen a few S/C's & berlli's that will make others crawl away and hide . all that being said , please don't try to sell/pass something off for what it is not . good luck .

Re: anyone building a clone?

Nah, I like Formulas better than Trans AMs, everyone expects more from a Formula than the overused Trans AM

Re: anyone building a clone?

I'm building a 1992 JY TTOP Firehawk clone with the comp package.
I have most of the parts but Im looking for some of the smaller detail parts now.
I even have a aluminum rodeck motor like 3 of them had.
Should be a fun toy.

Re: anyone building a clone?

I'm building a car that will have options never available together from the factory... like a 1LE package on a T-Top car... with A/C. Of course, since it is an 85, it can't be a real 1LE.

I wouldn't try to pass it off as anything but a tribute (can't even call it a clone since it will be a blatantly bogus combination of options).

Re: anyone building a clone?

No clone here. I'm simply building mine the way GM should have. I have a big mixture of 3rd & 4th gen with a good amount of vette goodies mixed in to make it fun. Of course, I can't forget all the custom fabbed pieces.
