Re: how to fix this rust

oh good luck, that is not a good place to have rust. Cut and replace, but have someone who is really good at welding... I've seen people part their cars out because of that area.

I only can find the passenger side. I'll probably just have to cut and replace. It shouldn't be to hard, I know a guy who could do this, he's good like that.

do you have a replacement for it yet?I'm scrapping a shell real soon and would love to see pieces of it go to fix other cars rather than to the crusher

Re: how to fix this rust

I'm looking for a very solid lower core support piece. It's the long piece of metal underneath the radiator if you're not familiar with it. In what condition is yours?

Re: how to fix this rust

STL in the house! Im 1 hr north of gateway on I55.
I suggest you go to the JY (speedway) by the racetrack. they have a bunch of 3rdgens with many parts.
I also would like to say that if the strut tower is that bad you prolly have more serious issues with the car all over. I looked at a car that was @ speedway and couldnt figure out y it was there...looked great outside but pop the hood/ pull the carpet back and it was rusty soooo bad everywhere..
Good luck!

Re: how to fix this rust

If its that rusty on the top, pull the front wheel and the plastic liner off and check the underside.. Its probably worse a lot farther down than you think.
