depending on price..i might be interested in that. it would be cool to have the look of a hardtop with the tops. since i could paint those. (i know i can paint my regular t- tops too. but i couldnt bring myself to ruining em.)

WOW. I was seriously just thinking of trying to make a pair out of fiberglass, after reading that other thread about the CF decklid. Funny that I then see this thread after working it out in my head. Depending on price i would def think about grabbing a pair

I don't have the money to invest in a set now but that's not to say I wouldn't in the future as I most certainly would.

I would buy them eventually, would like to see a one piece targa though too, eventually I intend to convert my car to a targa and use CF to replace the glass, though I would rather buy it if possible, I'm decent with resins and fibers, but I'm no pro, so for ease and more importantly fit and finish, I would buy them if they were out there. I guess the real question is how many you would have to sell to at least break even.
But that glass is heavy, which makes removing them a bit of a pity, and of course its glass, so you have to be super careful, and a lot of weight up top hurts handling, lastly, I kind of wish I didn't have sun coming through my roof all the time, if I want it to come through I will take the tops of, but if they aren't off, I probably don't want it coming through...So I definitely do think they would sell.

I realize this is an old post but I to am interested in cf top. Actually I'd like to replace as many body panels as possible with cf but due to cost I'll probably just have to learn fiberglass.

Re: Anyone interested in fiberglass or carbon fiber t-tops?
I've done a little looking around on Google and haven't come up with much. Think I saw one or two cf hoods and plenty of ft hoods but that's about it. There is a company making body kits and such out of a material called duraflex which I think is similar to the urathane out bumper covers are made out of, but it's all body kit looking stuff. I guess if you want your f-body to look like an oversized ***** it would be cool but it's not for me. However I do like the idea of stuff like fenders and door skins made out of an impact resistant plastics rather than something like cf or ft which will crack or fragment.
Btw: ft = fg. Stupid smartphone can't spell.
