argghh t-top weatherstrip issues (new)

Engine: LQ9 W/ Howards ASA cam+Fast 90

Axle/Gears: Currie 9inch w 4.30 gears
argghh t-top weatherstrip issues (new)

hey guys i just isntalled a NOS t-top bar and new weatherstripping (metro from 1aauto) and my issue is i cannot get the t tops back on the car they wont go far enough into the t bar to allow them to latch (ie cant push them toward the center of the car far enough)this the case on both sides i have re installed sealsjust to be sure they ARE installed correctly... any one have any expierence with this ..... thanks any help is appreciated

Have the same issue on my car. I gave up on it and decided to cover the car and deal with it later

while the seals may be a bit thicker than what came off (the originals get compressed over time), they still should fit in. its definitely a tight fit the first time around. you can try wiping a little silicone spray on the seal when you try to put the top in for the first time to let it slide in a bit easier. if you used a lot of adhesive underneath (or didn't scrape all the old stuff off), it may have pushed the seal up a bit too

i think in reality i might have used too much adhesive on the t-bar and its now too tight to the roof and makes the t tops too tight on the seal .... so off comes the tbar....AARGHH .... oh well hope it works ahhahhh

I had same problem with mine! I put some wd40 on the edge(T-Top) and push them in at an angle, holding the outside edge up and moving it up and down while pushing in. It took a while but they went in. They were a pain but after a while its OK now.
