Okay, so im modifying my 86 Trans am, and I want to change the stock hood, so i was searching around and found this beauty, i know its not ram air, or at least by judging by the picture i think its not, can anyone help me out? just a name or a hint or something thanks! btw i found this on thirdgen.org so if its yours i apologize i just found it on google

I'm pretty sure its the ram air I hood...there's a start for you anyways lol. look on hawks and they have a similar hood on there...if not that exact same hood. hope this helps!

really? darn, lol cause the ram air looks like it has bigger vents and the vents are a little bit higher than this one, well yeah it is a start lol, it looks like that one, lets see if anyone can get it right if it isnt a ram air!, thanks tho man lol

Lol thanks, my car probably won't get a hood upgrade until next year...too much money already planned to go into it this summer but when I do, I'll post a pic

New tires, new headliner, and the trunk lid needs repainted. And afterrr that possibly a new exhaust system. Paying for college makes my spending money very limited lol So its just a few new things every summer. Next summer should be a new hood and new rims

You're thinking of the LS1 era Ram Air II hood.



The hood you posted is the older Ram Air I hood.

LT1 era Ram Air hood:



IMO the RAI looks best on Firebirds naturally, but the Ram Air II looks pretty decent on third gen Camaros.

yeah i like the Ram air II as well, but i mostly love them on the 4th gen firebirds.. for my 86 T/A I think i'd want to go with the "first gen" ram air hood lol

@boylan33, sweet, yeah the hood is like a good 5, and yeah college gets in the way of putting some, or should I say, even MORE TLC into my T/A

I feel like if your going to spend the money then get something that's noticeable and makes your car look different than others...the power buldge hood isn't a whole lot different than the regular stock hood IMO just doesn't make as much of a statement..but if your going for a subtle change then I guess it works. I love the look of the RA I hood..so I might just be biased haha

I just recently purchased a Harwood pro-touring type II style hood and im absolutely in love with it.. before i bought it, that ram air hood is what i had my heart set on. but i am glad i didn't go that route..maybe you should look into those..???
