This is the first time I saw my car since I dropped it off, and it was a little tough to see. It looks like a junkyard car

Bumpers, fenders, all moulding and most of the decals are off

The fenders are mostly repaired and down to the metal.


You can see where he welded up the antenna hole and has to fill it in.


And this is one victory for me. A manual hatch latch. **** the power one, I sold it today lol



Its coming along. His other work is slow now so he's hinting that he'll be done soon. Thats cool, I'm ready when he is. He's going to replace the glass soon I think.

How do you like the Dynamat? Got it all through the car?

I just did it in the trunk area only. With the GMMG exhaust, the exhaust is pretty loud. The dynamat and a new hatch seal really helped mellow out the obnoxious-ness enough where it wont rattle my brain but you can definitely tell the car is running when you're on the gas

More Progress:

Decals are off the hood, hood is starting to be prepped


Fenders and bumper covers are done and primed

Roof is almost finished...few dents to fill in, and a few spots to weld up.


Tailgate is done. Spoiler has been fitted, new holes drilled, old holes welded. Third brake light deleted.


Now he's installing a steering box and a couple other things I dropped off. I gave him money to pay for all new glass. He wanted to get everything else done to the car before he took the doors off and started redoing them. He's going to put in new window motors, regulators, lock actuators, and double check all the body adhesive inside that might tend to make the door rattle. He's also installing new hinge hardware so the doors wont creak and pop anymore.

Its getting there!

**Does anyone know the factory paint code for the gunmetal grey on the bottom of my car??***

The paint code book calls for like a code 050 I think but whats in his book seems way lighter than whats on my car. He said a code 090 looks closer to whats on there now. What do I need? RPO codes/ SPID label are gone from my car.

More progress! The bodywork is done on the roof, 1/4s and trunk lid.

And, the man doing the work!


New hinge hardware is all installed. Door hardware is stripped out. Doors are gutted. Once he gets the bodywork done on the doors and puts them back on he's going to reprime the car one last time, and spray the grey on the bottom of the car. I made another payment to him today and verified that he ordered all my new locks, and my rear hatch to get installed.

Also, I dropped off a rear cargo well cover, and the brackets for him to weld in.

I bought the same aluminum bumper a couple of years ago and cleaned it up and painted it BEFORE I checked to see if it was the right one. Freakin' GENIUS! Anyone know where that one actually came from and why it is not compatible? Perhaps someone has the right aluminum one for me and wants to swap for mine...

I forgot to ask. He used the charcoal grey that was in his paint code book. According to his book, I had too dark of a grey on there from the previous "repaint"/owner. They did such a shitty repaint, im surprised it looked as good as it did lol

My new hatch glass has arrived. The body guy is going to remove the hatch, paint the inside hatch jam, and install the new glass. Sounds like it should be painted this coming week!
