iv seen this body transformation kit on a few websites, but can never find anyone selling these!! a long time ago i was digging and researching it, and i found a link. that link had prices and stuff, and LOTS of pics of the kit on several differant 3rdgens. but i cant find where that is anymore (i think it vanished). ill admit, this is prolly the ONLY body kit id ever consider for a 3rdgen. so anyone know where to find these????

hey thanks. and yeah that site looks very familiar, so i must have been there a few years ago when i was researching it, but then couldnt find this time. and yeah, the link with the pics was awsome, it had a bunch of bad *** 3rd gens all decked out with them and there were a few differant styles too.

eh, somewhat. i think the "shape" of the nose resembles a viper more than anything. thats what jumped out at me. and love how wide it makes it, cuz then you could put some REALY DEEP dished, big lip rims on it!!!!

Ha! That's a pic of my uncle's car! It looks like it's lining up for him to give it to me, too. The interesting thing is that I'm more of a Ford guy, but I've always respected the 3rd-gen Camaros. This site seems pretty jam-packed with information so I've been doing some reading before I take possession of it.

Yeah, it hasn't been started in at least a couple years, so I don't know what i'm getting myself into yet...lol. He last had it running and drove it down to Florida in about 2003 or 2004.

It's got the 305 TPI, Automatic, A/C, Cruise, and obviously the Danko body kit.

This probably won't go down til around September, but we're in the talks about it. It just sits in his garage and I think he finally realized he'll never get around to driving it or appreciating it as much as it deserves. It really is a nice car, and quite a "barn find", I guess.

He currently drives a 2002 Camaro 3800, and he just gave my brother his '89 Honda Shadow VT1100 bike. With of course for both vehicles, a commitment to keep them in the family (never sell it).

I cant really decide if i like this body kit or not haha. When i look at the front end,it reminds me of an older mazda rx7. And like cIaRmOaCrZo, it also resembles a viper as well

Oh wow, Moshe, I just talked to my uncle (Judd Smith) and I guess you two go way back! It's literally the same car on your website (he even has the same license plate on it still!).

It seems like this car has some history and I have just confirmed that he will be giving it to me sometime in September, so I definitely plan on taking advantage of these forums!

It preceded all cars mentioned in this thread who say it "looks like", so in reality, it was first and they all "look like" the Danko Camaro. In it's day, it was a breath of fresh air being surrounded by all boxy cars of the 80's.

Still doesn't make the body kit resemble those cars (Alongside the 1992 Dodge Stealth) any less. I am not insinuating that Danko copied anyone. I am just stating the resemblance the body kit has to some other cars that just happen to be econo-coupes.

Meh, another old thread. Guess we have more grave diggers on here lately than usual... At least they're searching.

As for the body kit... The biggest problem with it is that it doesn't really fit the body lines too well. Our cars are rather boxy, and the sides of this kit look like cheap hunks of plastic just thrown on the side of the car. Rather than attempting in some way to follow the contour of the side, they decided to remake the contour entirely... And failed miserably by leaving that lip at the top edge.

It's almost like, even though this kit was around before the next gen Vette, someone decided to take the top 1/2 of the 3rd gen and put the lower half of the Vette onto it (or some curvy Euro car around that time). The black car with the rear shot shows this best, especially with the Vette wheels. It would be okay IF there weren't any slits in the rear bumper cover like on the blue car below it, and the exhaust opening was either wider (as in the Vette) or there was one on each side (4th gen). Not sure if Danko made the hatch on the black one, but I'm kind of digging that. Or just the spoiler.

This would be a look almost worth approaching IF it was on a Bird. The headlights just kind of seem out of place. Maybe it's because I'm partial to the 93-97 Bird nose...

I actually put a danko kit on my old 86 Iroc. I did a search because I was curious if mine ended up on here. I had the car for about 11 years and just fell out of love with it. 86 Iroc w/ T's, and I put in a crated 350SBC with alum heads and t56, 4.11's and the danko kit. I junked the t5 and low output carb'd 305.

I never finished the car and Im kinda sorry I didn't. What I hated was not being able to find replacement headlights. I didn't want the stock Camaro's and was trying to transplant something like 95 300Z headlights into those pockets. But otherwise the kit was pretty kewl and I loved the back the most - I had a single 4" SuperTrap sticking out the back. It made the rear of the car.

Yep. Primer grey and white when it was taken away. 350 crate, t56, and the car was in pieces. No door windows and most of the interior gutted. I was planning on a ground up build with custom interior etc and after 9 years of it in the garage I just lost interest in the car.

The on in your sig - is that it? If so I'd love to see some pics...

Yea I think Its the one I bough lol it's been taken apart motor was replaced with a 383 still have the t56 in it. I ditched the body kit a few years ago an went with the stock 91-92 look

Yep. That's was mine. Sorry to see you took the kit off. I always liked it. I never could figure out what to do with the headlights. I LOVED the idea of the Supertrapp on the back...until I actually put it on. Then I hated it. Too late. I had way more to worry about then exhaust tips at that point.

It looked pretty good in black. I was always a fan of white but I liked how it came out in the black too and the Vette rims gave it a nice look.

Glad to see you still have the car and its still giving someone pleasure. That chassis must have 500k miles on it by now. Hopefully I run into you with that car sometime in the future. I only had it on the road for 2 years before I started the gut project but I have a shitload of stories about me and that car.
