So i'm starting the bodywork on my 1991 Camaro RS and ran into a snag

Due to a hit and run at my girlfriends old apartment complex, i have a decent sized dent in my driver side, rear quarter panel




But i can't for the life of me figure out how to get the interior plastic out...maybe i'm a little dense or something but it's got me completely dumbfounded

It's my daily driver, but i still don't wanna take off a bunch of stuff i didnt need to take off, just to get in the back to start hammering that out

That metal looks really stretched....may even need to be put on a frame machine to get a descent pull out of it...and to reshape some of the metal back if you plan on saving the quarter...

Yeah it's pretty sickening...especially considering before it happened I had bought it from a junkyard with a flawless body, and kept it that way for 4-5 years

I guess i got a bit lucky though, considering it didn't damage my gfx, my spoiler, or the neck of my gas tank

If it's too bad, I'll probably just end up buying a quarter panel skin or something along those lines

looks like it will for the most part pop out from the back...........invest in a stud welder, or at the very least a couple screws and a dent puller.....it should turn out ok.........the interior plastics have 2 plastic screws in front of the tail lights and a snap thing around the hatch shock.....it jusy snaps out

maybe that's why i couldn't figure out how to get any of it off

i spent a good hour out there sitting in my hatch looking for screws to take out...never found any (other than the 2 you mentioned) then it got dark (my mom's 02 stratus has somehow taken over the garage, just because she doesn't want to walk out to the driveway so i've got no light to work under)

thats how mine come off, mine a 86 so yours might be different....they just snap off after you pull the 2 screws and the clip though

i'm glad i got a couple responses before i started on it again tomorrow (taking my headliner out too)

Edit: a bit off topic but, how well does the fiberglass SS hood do with a latch instead of hood pins? I love how the hood looks, but it isn't produced in steel and i hate the look of hood pins on a street car (personal preference) but i've had bad luck with latching fiberglass hoods in the past...if you could PM me or something and let me know, that would be great
