Drilling Body Kit Holes
I am attempting to put the body kit from a 1989 RS on my 87 sport coup. I have all the pieces, but I can't decide on a good way to make sure I get the holes lined up the right way. Does anyone know of a good way to do this? I just don't want to drill a bunch of holes and have them not be correct. I appreciate any input on this, thanks

Re: Drilling Body Kit Holes
On my bird,I put a dab of grease on the tips of the studs on the peices, and made sure the parts were lined up correctly, then pressed them against the body lightly leaving the mark of the grease on the body where the hole should be.
That worked fine for me,may work for you as well.

Re: Drilling Body Kit Holes
get a piece of cardboard, the shape of the ground effects...cut out the hole placement...then cut it flat along say the bottom of the door kit, so that you can press it flat up against the bottom of the door to get it put in the right place, and then you have a firm stencil you MIGHT even be able to flip and do the other side., idk, just a thought. Basically make a stencil of the holes and do it that way. Or you can always go to your local junkyard and make stencils from the body line, and do it that way. That would be your alternative to grease...would be making stencils...

Re: Drilling Body Kit Holes
I was thinking about doing what Tim said but I just had my bro hold up the gfx while I took a pencil and marked where I had to drill, then we double checked the pencil markings and then I drilled.
