kid was speeding down the turn lane while i was in stopped traffic. I turned into him. He had no insurance and I got a ticket for failure to yeild. I had bruised ribs and a beat up knee, but was fine other than the loss of my mint RS. Its okay, I built another.

my personal feeling is id rather be 6 feet under from some of those car accidents then having to incur the wrath of my parents, lol. almost lost my car a couple of nights ago to some woman blowing a light while i was turning. had to change pants after that one.

Re: Worst Accident's Involving ThirdGen's (Pictures)
84 Trans Am. Bought the thing for $500. Put some good work into it, all it needed was paint. New interior, new suspension, etc ... Then some old bag in a Caprice decided she would turn left RIGHT IN FRONT of me. I hit her doing about 40 mph. T-tops were out, thankfully. The impact pushed the fender onto the door, and I had to climb out the top. Later, when I ripped the interior out, I found buckling all the way down the tranny tunnel. 4 days before my b-day too. Bitch. This is after making some handy work with the sawz all to get the mangled mess out of the way to get the motor out.

Re: Worst Accident's Involving ThirdGen's (Pictures)
Actually I beg to differ about my insurance, I drive a 2004 Mustang (blah) now and I pay less with full coverage. State farm tried to up my insurance after paying my medical bills and I simply dropped then and went with someone else. I posted this on some other forums as well but I guess I forgot to add when I did hit the brakes my tire blew out as you could see in that second picture. I'm honestly glad I hit the dump truck because I probably would have killed the person driving next to me if I didn't overcompensate. I still got careless driving for admitting in court I drove on ten year old tires that have been sitting in a barn. If my insurance went up too bad I would have just gotten married to my fiancee and made my wife the primary driver and insurance holder so I pay less since she's a few years older than me.. like I'll be doing on my '09.
And also, someone posted these pictures on Iroc-z.com under the Camaro Wrecks and it wasn't me. I'd like to know who did it. I still have the title that matches the tags in the picture.

Worst I've ever seen. Spotted it on the south east regional boards.

Read the thread, he had no injuries.
I just dont understand how you confuse the brakes and the gas? I guess it was just one of those statistics with inexperienced drivers. At leaste everyone was okay. But I'd hate to have his new insurance rate...

Re: Worst Accident's Involving ThirdGen's (Pictures)
Friend of mine was driving down a little too fast down a twisty backroad and didn't make the turn. Went airborne, through a telephone pole, and about 150 yards into a muddy field. Originally he was gonna rebuild it himself, but decided to drop a 454 in an '81 Camaro he had instead. So I bought it from him for real cheap, all the new body panels included, and I'm currently rebuilding it.

Way to dig up an old one. My car was totalled in 2004 and I honestly haven't looked at the pic's in a long time.

Since this thread came back from the dead I figured I'd post a picture of one of the worst cars we've had. This was a 50k mile IROC that had just come from California before it got hit. This car had been NICE!!! It got hit so hard it broke the transmission in half. The driver's fender is actually still bolted on but you would never know it. However, the weirdest part is the the hood was PERFECT!!! How that happened I'll never know.

Are you freakin' kidding me? And he wasn't hurt? Thank GOD but it makes me sick thinking this could be my car. Makes me never want to take it out of the garage again!

man these are horrific. but the sad and sick thing is, these 3rdgens were killed all by accident, when now and days d-bags just kill them on purpose because they think they can make a buck

Re: Worst Accident's Involving ThirdGen's (Pictures)
this car was my uncles friends car, he let his son take it to prom, after prom they ran into the back of a school bus @ 40mph, this car had every option from the factory
i bought the car for 100 bucks( it sat for about 8-10 years before i bought it), l98/auto car with 40k on it 9 bolt rear with 3.70 gears iirc
1le swaybars, car also had the larger 1le brakes /bilstien shocks/struts , woodgrain dash and trim, bose sound system etc etc etc
needless to say i didnt have the money to fix it at the time so i stripped off all the goos stuff and most of it made its way onto my turbo v6 car, the motor/trans/rear,and bose system i sold, along with the leather/plether whatever the hell it was interior
heres how it sat when i got it
under the hood
and once i started stripping it down

i did, i wanted to keep all the glass out of the car since it was spotless/showroom condition but i had a deadline to get the car stripped and sent off to be scrapped, local town ordinance didnt allow us to keep junk cars out in the lot and the shop was full with a few racecars and other customer projects so i had no room to put it inside till i got every last part off it

Re: Worst Accident's Involving ThirdGen's (Pictures)
that one makes me the sickest. im hunting up and down for an 87 blue iroc JUST like that one. something about them catches my eye more lately. its an itch iv been trying to scratch. if i didnt get an 87 it would be 89 in same trim and options. damn that car seem to have had it all! i had to kill a black one with all those same options but it was swiss cheese.

had t-top and a/c. i wanted to fix it so damn bad but it was going to cost alot of money, few years later i bought a 86 iroc in the same color scheme on the exterior with black cloth interior 305/t5 car and i loved that car.
im debating on painting my tt iroc the same color and getting the factory strip kit for it
heres my 86
god i miss that car

Sad, but I've had two lost to accidents. My 1st and second one. No pics of the second one, but here is my first car
Following my father home and it was snowing, I was 16 and came around the turn too fast at 45. Flipped it, hit a telephone pole while still in the air and walked away. Luckily I was alone.

Re: Worst Accident's Involving ThirdGen's (Pictures)
I am 49 now and never had a wreck. knock on wood. When my son gets my bird in 5 years it will have a full cage - knowing the things I did when younger.
When my daughter starts driving in 11 years her car will have a full interior cage and a full exo-skeleton cage with tires tied to the side. it will also have a cell phone signal disrupter that turns on with the ignition key. Oh, and I forgot, it'll have automatic brakes to prevent the tailgating that seems to be ingrained in women.

Man I could cry after seeing all those pics. My car fell off the ramps on my car trailer a month ago and just getting scratches on it pissed me off so I can imagine if it was totaled. Im glad to see that there was no major injuries at least with all the wrecks I saw

I watched the video, I cant beleive you fixed that thing. Ive been told that after you have a frame straightened that it will be weaker? Did you weld reinforcements to the frame?
