Blackouts and security questions

Yesterday I moved into new apartments...my first night there, and my blackouts were stolen. So, for those who have blackouts, how do you have them secured on your vehicle?? They come with the velcro but has anyone actually done something to keep them from being stolen?? I see how this new apartment complex is going to be, need more security.
On the security topic, what kind of alarm or devices do you have?? An alarm will be next on my list of things to do. I have paint chips on my door and my drivers window looks to be pulled out, but they couldn't get the door unlocked. I've pulled EVERYTHING out of my car that would invite someone to try and break in.

My blackouts are spray on tinting, look great I think not that stick-out-super-dark

You might want to invest in a sensitive alarm system from somewhere if its going to be that bad

No one likes a noisy car alarmy but you dont like your stuff goin missing either

I don't think an alarm is going to stop anybody from stealing blackouts that are held on by velcro. But it might deter a break-in. But honestly, how many car alarms do you hear going off that you just don't pay any attention too? Even with an alarm, a smash and grab can happen. So get an alarm for some protection, but the best thing, just take everything out of the car.

You should try staying in your car one night with the lights off so if they come back you jump out with a sledge hammer and you know the rest

My center caps are now gone.

Actually, they make car alarms with a beeper function. If your alarm is going off, your remote will go off. And yes I know a car alarm won't stop someone from stealing blackouts held on with velcro...that's why im asking if anyone has installed them differently, a more secure way.

What about screwing them on?? Or what about using that VHT nightshade?

Just get out of that place. id keep looking for another apartment honestly, and if my car was constantly a victim, i wouldnt risk that. But i know sometimes you dont really have a choice.

Time to move. I had my blackouts screwed in-both front and back. There is also some type of locks for your caps that I saw at the wheel shop. You might want to check it out.

My alarm has the beeping remote, its great! I also have the horn and siren on a switch so i can turn them off when im in a location where i dont want the neighbors woken up, but still want my car armed.

Its an audiovox prestige aps997 damn good alarm system for the money
heres the one i use:
eBay: NEW PRESTIGE APS997 2-WAY REMOTE START ALARM (item 290010041629 end time Aug-17-06 14:15:00 PDT)

Whats the point of having it armed if the siren and horn don't go off?

the remote goes off when the car alarm is triggered. Thats when you run outside and kick some ***. Whats the point of having the alarm going off and pissing off the neighbors when the remote tells you its being broken into. The lights still flash as well.

you know the paging only works within about 1000 feet of the car.

I'm less than 1000. Probably 200-300, but I have an apartment building between me and my car so...

file a police report everytime something gets stolen.

this will let you get out of your lease.

then move.
