wheel well + floor pan rust repair

hey guys, inside the rear wheel well.. right in the corner there is a hole the side of your rist. i want this fixed asap. best route to go? sandblast it and then cut the rust out and then put new metal in and weld or is there a better way to fix this. when this car is done the car will not be drivien in the winter.

the floorpan has a fist size hole as well. is it best for me to cut the rust out and weld in a piece of metal and then undercoat? thanks so much

i want to do things properly and not have to worry about them when done

best regards
Douglas

Are you comfortable making the repairs yourself? Chances are that if you have rust through in the exterior wheel well area you also have problems along the wheel well seam inside the car as well.

Right, pull the rear seats and interior panels. You'll probably want to pull the carpet also. Repair wise, if you're handy with the mig welder and can stich new sheet metal in... have at it.

Hey, I might be able to help a bit. I had rust there too, and my car's body is back up to snuff. Check out my CD site. there are pictures of the whole process.
