WINDOW MOTOR POPPING
Just Out Of Curiousity Has Anyone Ever Experianced Having The Window Motor Pop (make A Loud Snap/pop) Noise When It Is First Brought Down Or After Sitting For A Short While In The Full Up Position Make This Sound On Its First Movement Down. The Motor Has Been Replaced And Everything Has Been Lubbed. Nothing Is Broken Or Bent. The Regulator Checks Out Fine, No Abnormal Operation, And Everything Moves Like It Is Supposed Too. Just As I Said Has A Loud Snap/pop On Its First Movement Down. Motor Was Reinstalled With Rivets. Done At The Chevrolet Shop That I Work At Over A Year Ago. Nothing Is Moving Out Of The Ordinary. It Only Pops Once All The Way Up And Allowed To Sit For A Short Period Of Time (about 30 Seconds). If You Operate The Window Up And Down Non Stop There Is No Problems. I'll Have To Check On Removing The Passengers Door Panel (just Didn't Want To Since It Hase Never Been Removed). This Car Is A '92 Convertable With Around 60,000 Miles Show Quality. So I'll Probably Remove The Door Panel On My '91 Camaro To Compare The Operation With It (mine Was Unavailable On Saturday When I Pulled The Door Panel Off). I Appreciate Your Help.

sounds like the door skin is cracked where the regulator mounts with rivets, common problem

THERE ARE NO CRACKS OR WARPAGE OF THE DOOR SKIN. IT DOES PUSH OUTWARD WHEN THE WINDOW IS ALL THE WAY UP. ITS BEEN A WHILE SINCE I'VE HAD THE REGULATOR OUT, I CAN'T REMEMBER IF THERE IS A SPRING ON IT TO PROVIDE TENSION. I'LL HAVE TO TAKE MINE APART AND COMPARE.

mine did this but has since stopped. I just replaced my motor and I didn't have any stress cracks at all. I just adjusted the window felts and that seemed to make it go away. There is a spring on the regulator, but you shouldn't have to mess with it. I don't really think there is anything that can go wrong with them, unless they break for some reason. If you window is going up to far, you need to adjust your window stops. There is one on each side of the window.

THANKS, THE WINDOW IS GOING UP JUST FAR ENOUGH, I HAD THOUGHT ABOUT DROPPING THE STOPS TO SEE HOW MUCH OF A DIFFERENCE THIS WOULD MAKE, BUT THEN THE WINDOW WOULDN'T GO UP FAR ENOUGH TO COMPLETE THE SEAL. I'VE JUST GOT TO GET THE TIME TO TAKE IT APART COMPLETELY AND SEE WHAT IS GOING ON, IT'S HAPPENING RIGHT IN THE SPRING AREA, WHICH YOU CAN'T SEE OR FEEL AT ALL WHEN ATTACHED TO THE DOOR.
