Rear Seat Delete Kit

I was on ebay the othe day and I saw a rear seat delete kit for a mustang and started wondering if theres something like it out there for a 3rd gen? I have a cage in my car but I still have factory rear seats in it for looks of course. I hate the way it looks with them out with the holes and all. So I was wondering if anyone has seen a kit like this or am I going to have to fab something up. I have a complete custom interior for shows and all so its got to look good and I will get it all covered in the tweed that is thoughout the hole inside of the car. But anyway if anyone has any info on this let me know. Thanks guys

It's easy for mustangs to have a rear seat delete, because the side view of the seats looks like this \__ . nice and flat. unfortunately, our seats look like this from the front \_/--\_/.

You would have to make a pannel for each seat. Wouldnt be hard. Just take your time and think out every aspect of fab and installation.

Search for the rear seat delete kits, they do exist. They have been posted about on here before. I have seen them on ebay, advertised for 4th gens, but I think they fit. The carpeting they come with doesn't match up perfectly.

I think they are carpeted wood. I'd buy em if they were fiberglass or plexiglass with matching carpet.

make them from MDF, then fiberglass them (toss a 10" sub in each one if you want)

I wanted to do something like that originally. But, I read the subs dont sound all that great unless they're in the back pointed up at the hatch glass, or angled to the hatch glass.

they will be really loud in the back seat but if you wanted to go into competition you would do alot worse then you would with them in the hatch

Yeah, they'll work. The 4th gen rear seat bottom cushions, are MAYBE 1/4" narrower. Most likely, you'll never even notice. My 92 RS had 4th gen seats, front and rear, and you could only see any difference in the rear seat fit, if you looked at it, just right.

Don't be worried about the fit, just the price. You could build them yourself, pretty easily.

Re: Rear Seat Delete Kit

not tryin to jack the thread but what would some subs sound like if they are settin on the hump over the rear? Cuz I still want to be able to use that space to put stuff if I need to.

The biggest restriction to putting subs on top of the hump, would be tha lack of space. By the time the box has enough air space, it'll be so big, it'll be harder to see out the back window of your car.
