Just build a reputation with this guy.... Myself I have had my car broken into 3 times after I put my stereo system in it.. Its really not even worth it to put an alarm system on your car... PPL will always find a way into it.. and usually end up doing more damage in the end... all I did was put up a security camera.... and all 3 times...... I had the thieves on tape... the 4th time it got broken into.. I was at my parents place for the weekend.... went outside the next morning.. saw the pass door open just a tad and walked straight to the back window and looked in. Gone...

Got into my parents Escalade, and went for a drive... some guy about 10 houses down the street was having a sale.. and Guess what I see laying out on his front yard....

I drive into his yard and as calm as I could be started looking at it and started showing interest in the system... I asked what kind of car its out of.. and he said its custom fit for a Camaro.. I said sweet.. I have a Nice Iroc sitting at home.. asked him how much he wanted for it..... he told me the price.. so I dug out my wallet and dug out this big wad of 100's.... he's eyes got all big.. so I still calmly started counting out the bills out in front of him... then with a quick snap I punched him in the face.....

Broke his nose, he swallowed 4 teeth and a piece of his tongue.. when the cops showed up.. my dad had driven my car down to the house and was sitting there waiting for the cops to show up to finger print the car

lol.. the story got around where I live now...

to my favor... the story has changed to that I nearly killed the guy with 1 punch... no one will even touch my car without permission haha... and even that is rare... I bitch when my GF closes the pass door too hard...

Just a couple of shots

Yeah...I was hit ~3 months ago. I'm ordering a Viper 2-way alarm in the next few days and I already have all the replacement gear except for the sub enclosure (been ordered for a while, but the manufacturer is behind schedule). The *** that hit me goes around stealing from all over the neighborhood; waits a few months to a year or so and then does it again once everyone's bought new gear. From the total lack of cooperation from the detective and incompetence from the sheriff, it really looks like they're allowing this due to the stereotype that people with nice stereos are punks. There's a 50 Cent track that goes "Now you can be a victim or you can lock and load". We live in complacent times. More and more I see people have to take matters into their own hands for one reason or another. This is the playground. When someone hits you, if you do nothing about it, plan on never owning anything nice again because these theives remember who was an easy hit.

Oh yes. and also, in some states you can shoot a burgler only if you have no choice for the saftey of you or your family. If you shoot him, and kill him.. and it is found he has no weapons on him and he was not a viable threat.. you might be in just as much trouble.. only state that is not an issue is louisiana.. Because they go mostly by calonial law. They step foot on your property out away from the cities (mostly in the swamp area which most of LA is anyhow), and you can kill them dead.. and not a cop will ever show up... most cops won't even go out into the bayou and swamp lands.... and once something is dropped into the swamp.. all traces go away. Snakes. gators, bugs.. or they sink into the mud.... either way they are gone...

It's happened before- I would have LOVED to see that trial though.

From what I've read, if someone breaks in and poses a threat then you can shoot them to disable them. If you kill an unarmed man you are screwed. Luckily those laws keep every jackass from owning a gun and shooting everything that moves.

good point, a thigh shot will stop somone real quick. so will a shot to other below the waist areas . man THAT would suck

however i think most of you are forgeting the main purpose of owning a firearm for personal protection (a second ammendment guarnteed right). in most cases criminals rely on complacency and unarmed resistance, if a man brakes in to your home and you shout "stop or i'll shoot" in most cases he wont even wait for you to finish your sentence before he is out the door. if a verbal warning is not enough chances are seeing you holding a pistol will be. if not, the 9mm jacketed period at the end of your sentence will be all the emphasis he needs, you don't even need to hit him with the first shot, just shoot your floor. if he bleeds all over it your going to have to replace it anyway....

The finger prints are only good if they are on file. If he has not ever been arrested then they won't come back. I would offer him a drink and then give the glass to the cops.

I know what you mean, i live in MN too and man are there some real messed up laws. I'm thinking about to get an alarm system and putting some carpeting over my system now. It's sitting on top of the folded down back seats. 2 12" subs with an amp, nothing like wildfire and his set up but still, i would have done the same except i'd break some limbs too. Knowing MN laws i'd get sued over assault even though the idiot stole my stuff. They should just come up with a "common sense law". That way if someone does a criminal act, the person who had something stolen/done to, they can do anything to them except kill them basically.

On this topic -- someone was in my car again last night. They didn't take anything; they just moved sopme stuff around. I'm not even locking it until I get the new alarm becaue I can tell from the extremely crude methods this person uses that there's no way they can hotwire a car...besides...mine doesn't look worth stealing yet anyway. One of my friends wants to move to a new place and take me along as a roommate, so at least I'll be in a new hood; hopefully a better one. I joke that I live in 'da hud' because it's so bad that you don't even pronounce the "oo" sound in hood. It comes out "da hud".

87CIZ, I suggest you have your hatch release wired to your ignition, actually i suggest this TO EVERYONE WITH STEREO GEAR, i was worried someone could break my window and hit the release if they wanted my stereo stuff, since if the window is broken with my setup the whole hatch has to be up to get it out or it gets stuck, i had my alarm guy wire it so the key has to be on to pop the hatch, and the car has to be in park or neutral with the key on to pop it.....THat and when i did my custom center console i moved the switch inside the glove box so it isnt visible...

On the plus side for me mines for show and cruising so rarely is it out of my site

Yeah I really should wire my hatch like irocbirdbuilder said. I locked my keys in my car 3 months ago and got the hatch open in about a minute. Not very hard and it makes you wonder how fast a pro could open it up.

Well the genius that had the car before me got rear ended or something and smashed the middle part that says camaro (4th gen) up, the hole where the lock is suppose to go isn't in the right spot, i can't even use my keys to open it that way. And second, my hatch is kind of messed up, you have to time it just right from hitting the button to getting back there, and you have to pull in the right spot, otherwise it will lock again and you'll just be running back and forth hitting the button and tryin to open it. Maybe sometimes it pays to have broken parts...

Dude this is starting to **** me off about all of these punks stealing stuff, I have been there and done that, (drugs) and let me tell you what when you break into a friends house and rob him blind and see him break down like that and then seeing your best friend get takin to jail makes you think very fast. Ya I was a stupid punk, but atleast I got out of it before I really screwed up.

My life made a complete U-turn, now I am in the Navy, which really straighened my life up and I hang around alot better croud.

But what I guess I am getting to is I was there, I have done it and I think that we/they should get what is coming, I wish I did...

P.S. It makes you really feel bad when it happens to you because then you know how you made all of those people feel. Atleast I have tried to repent for my sins unlike the rest...

But that's a really cool way to be. If the guy who stole my gear came up to me and said he needed drug money and he was sorry, I'd understand & be OK with it. The thing is...this hasn't happened and if I catch the guy it will be a VERY bad day for him. I went through my own hard times (although in a very different manner) and I understand doing things out of desperation. It's great to see someone pull themselves out of that.

Well that was uplifting seriously, thank you and for your service.

Just joking, but you really don't want to post stuff up like that. My 'Bird has an immobiliser switch in her, but I'm not telling where!

Mark.

But seriously. I'd go straight over to the fools house and act calm then see if you can get inside and look around, then when you see it, don't stop beating him until he looks worse then some of those dudes from fight club.

And why would his mom tell you he's home? He's obviously avoiding you. Stake out his house.

if he knew where it was to steal it back (afterall you can't just break into somones house) he would just alert the police, then you would have your stuff back and have the guy in cuffs.

I just couldn't help but picture this as an episode of Knight Rider

Hasselhoff: "Setting auto destruct mode"
Kitt: "I'm sorry Michael, whatever I did.. I can fix it!!"
Hasselhoff: "No dice, I've just taken a job as a lifeguard.. and I'm taking Bonnie with me!"
Kit: "Nooooooooooooooooo"

As Hasselhoff pushes the eject button and escapes seconds before the explosion...
