Hehe, I would have liked to see the Supra tails done if any taillight mod. I still liked the blacked out ones.

Id just keep the blacked out ones. They look nice to me. If not choose the the supra ones I guess. The altezza name screams honda to me. I also am not in favor of that gigantic wing. But as others said. Your choice.

I like the stock ones, but since your car is all moded out, i guess the tail lights would look good, I've always wondered what the rsx altezza's would look like ona third gen...here's a pict..

I'm sorry, did you miss the rest of the car?!? LOL

It's just a wee bit late in the day for him to worry about the car getting rycy.

If I HAD to choose between the tail light disasters, I would go with the blacked out ones.

well i'm not a huge fan of any, however, the last picture you posted, the ones with all the color and the black would be the best IMO. show us when u get done, it will if nothing else be an impressive display of body work, if it looks right.

I vote NONE of them. The only way it would not look TOTALLY hacked would be if you could take the taillight shape (stock shape that is) and find something that fit that basic shape. I like the way #3 looks best, but those taillights, fitting into an otherwise "filled in" stock taillight location would look really dumb IMHO.

I see ppl adding taillights all over the place on the other boards and they all look like hack jobs because of the size differences between aftermarket and stock.

Yea, i dont understand why you would add circular eruo lights to a 3rd gen. I have to agree with everyone, number 3 is the best out of the worst. The other lights make it look 1: Like an integra, or 2, like an accord. Both have semi-similar euro lights

The carbon fiber ones would look ok since the car is all black, and similarly with the Supra ones. The RSX suggestion is worth considering too. I played with a stock set of early 90's Accord tail lights, and they seemed to fit OK, but only if you got a set of clear lenses, because they would need to be trimmed, so euros would just be destroyed. Be sure to keep us updated.

BTW; It's not a contribution to say "well they all look like Honda garbage to me so they all suck... oh yeah, your car sucks, too.", the inquiry was "which of these 3", not "should I do this?". And let me guess the retort to that comment; "Hey man, negative opinions are opinions, too!" - yes, they are, but only valid if on topic.

my bigest problem with them is the whole circle thing doesn't flow with the straight lines of the car....

man that wing is wide. i agree with most people on this board. i think that the circles on the newer style lights will make it not flow very well with the older styling straight lines of the car. and you will also have to worry about the fact that you will no longer have any type of rear side marker as the tail lights on our cars act as a side marker as to where the firebirds actually have a seperate side marker. i guess what i am trying to say is that it would make it illegal *at least here in the states* and the cops might not like you....sorry if i don't make sense. i messed up my ankle yesterday and i am on all kinds of pain medication....

But you guys gotta remember that the taillight enclosures will still be square. Just now you can see through the glass and the lights are round. I think it will flow fine. The Supra tails are very very close to what I had planned to do once, so I give those my first vote. I had contacted Steve Nielsen at Alter Images in California (snielsen@alter-images.com). They make custom truck sheetmetal parts and are pretty well known for extreme body mods in the sport truck scene. He said they could definately do it, but it was going to cost alot. The idea was to retain the stock mounting methods (the screws), and just have the front of the taillight cut to fit the Supra tails. The other cool thing about this is that you could take it a step further and have 3 or 4 sets of tailllights, all different stuff. Once the "mold" is made they can make as many sets as you want, then just cut to fit the desired lights. So pretty much any other light within the dimensions of the stock tails would fit with these metal 'pods' or enclosures (then painted to match). I was looking into custom tribal designs with LED lights in the background (sequential too), the Supra lights, the R34 lights, ZR4 lights, and a few others. They charge $60/hr labor and estimate 16-20 hours (barrowing a local 3rd gen). So pretty much $1000 for the first set, maybe cheaper after that. If you got the money, I say go for it!! Second vote is #2 because it matches a black paintjob better. Have fun!!

Axle/Gears: it's crap...they're stock!
...

Honestly, I like the last set the best. I think the blackouts are way too popular these days, just like r1cers are....so it's the pot calling the kettle black any way you look at it. Personally, I'm a Nissan freak at heart and I happened across a great deal for my car after moving out here to michigan from Connecticut(major r1cer territory).

Hey Crazy Hawaiian & iroc2nv....I'm also the same guy who just did a post about the idea of slapping an RB26DETT into a 3rd gen to be a sleeper 3rd gen Supra killer.

I'd never put an RB26DETT into MY 3rd gen, but a 2nd one I had aside from my daily drive?...=total drift machine & supra killer!

Budget wise, iroc2nv....I'd advise you to look on e-bay or somewhere else for those sequential LED rear lights. They're $80.00 a pair last I checked on them and they look really nice!
Just make sure to post a pic of your final decision!

the supra lights don't look that bad at all. if you do that though, i would fill the corners where the stock taillights wrap around, like the firebirds are.

You got a sweet car there buddy, I say the first tailights would accent your current modifications the best.

Can you actually do that, i mean put any of does lights on your car? if so thats awsome. There was thread along time ago about making clear (altezza) lights for our cars you might want to check it out. Also i'm sorry that every time you post anything about your car you get flamed. Personaly i dont like the front bumper but i also dont like sports coupe Camaros or any kind of third gen firebird.

i'm really REALLY not an altezza fan... but i'd have to say that if you go with any of those, atleast go with the carbon fiber ones... atleast they wont stick out like a sore thumb as those chrome ones do....
oh, and a thing to think about with the supra ones.... they're curved... not only their shape looking from the rear, but if you were to set them face down on a flat surface, they would have a convex shape to them: you could rock them like a rocking chair (the best example that would come to mind). if you were to mold them into a bracket thing to take the shape of the old taillights, the supra lights would stick out and look like crap up close....
thats the thing that really gets to me when people who try to swap taillights between different cars... they often dont line up well or match the lines of the car they're being put on.....

I personally have no problem with all three of em. I think if we could get a better pic of the one with the chrome it would look alot better with the black. I still like ur sig about a thirdgen being different. I personally think the car looks awesome. It may have a huge wing and everyone might not liek it but its done clean and doesnt seem to be half-assed any.

Btw When are u and flynlow92rs gonna get some pics of the wings together. That be cool

nothing looks as good as stock but....

i put a vote in for the supra tail lights. At least they still follow the colors of a stock Camaro. Now the shape is a different story. If you can actually do that, then it would be sweet.

just my 2 cents

I kinda like the supra ones, if the chromed part and shape is made well. I absolutely hate Nr 1, the chrome on them really is getting dated nowadays. It's all over all new mazdas and stuff.

I do understand that you want to mod the taillights, the camaro lights do look dated, and I personally honor you to not giving up on this when you know how many negative comments you get.

If I could come with a suggestion, it would be to look at the new Bmw 5 series taillights, I know, it's not the right shape and whatnot, but the style would be alot better. Actually the first time I saw the new 5 series, I thought i looked real mean, and those Nr 1's with all chrome, well they only looked semi mean 10 years ago.

I'd look into a style who would fit the heritage of a camaro more, it was originally designed as something resembling european sportcars, so I'd look into some of that. If you find some that almost has the right shape, the body could be welded to fit.

Have you ever considered the DeLorean ones? They would keep up the style from the stock ones...

Well in my opinion the supra ones are the best of the 3 but if done right those rsx ones could definitly be cool too.

One thing i don't understand is all the negativity....i mean mabye you don't like certain things on your car and thats fine, but when someone asks which of the 3 you think are best and you reply with something like"there all bad and belong on honda's" i think it's awfully narrowminded. I myself have an 87 sc and my dad owns a 67 and a 96 z28 as well as a 57 belair convertible. I have been brought up on chevy's all my life. However all of my friends drive honda's......i'll admit some of the things they put on them i don't like but if they do then thats fine by me. it's there own car and they can do what they choose.....i know for sure though that they didn't put that stuff on to get bashed by other people. They often say to me that they don't like muscle cars because "you can't do anything to them except put wheels on them" and i always argue with them, However after reading this thread mabye and what many of you are saying mabye there right.....there's a reason why honda's have such a huge aftermarket......and alot of it has to do with ppl trying to be different and not make all of their cars look the same........i myslef think that if someone wants to be different with their camaro we should praise them not flame them........

anyway mabye i'm totally wrong but there have been many threads like this where people ask which of something like "which do you think is best" and get stupid reply's like..."they all suck"....not everyone like's a thirdgen with 91-92 gfx's a high rise spoiler,tt2's and a cowl hood......mabye change would be a good thing for once.

I like bottom of pic 1. With the black carbon fiber.
I definitely think you need a good cam so you can get some decent shots of your car. I was always a fan.

Was it really necessary to bring back this post of those hideous tail lights?

And badnews that just shows how little taste you have. I'm all for custom work but 2nv's car just looks like crap. Anyone with descent taste in cars agrees.

Now can we please let this awful awful thread die and never speak of it again?
