trans_am_ta_84 - Car has a potential buyer, if that doesn't work, there is someone else, and then if that doesn't work we'll see. $1500 takes the car.

There is a local guy that has a 1992 Convert that exact combo, Green, with Tan interior. Looked really pretty good at 25-35 mph. He had it up for sale for one day, I looked at it and laughed, 48,000 miles, has some chipped paint on the spoiler, dent under the passenger mirror, drivers seat was WELL warn, he was asking only (ahem) $13,500.00 Because he told me that in 14 or so years it should be worth at LEAST $30,000.00... I should have told him, yeah, if its going to be so collectable, then why don't you hold onto it and sell it in 14 years...

I know its off topic, sorry...

I'm sure he's not the first fella with an inflated opinion of the value of his car... LOL. I'm keeping this one, and I fully expect it to be very collectible and worth a fair amount one day. But I don't expect it to be any more collectible or valuable than any other numbers-matching classic convertible V-8 sports car. I mean, let's face it... it ain't a Yenko or a Copo.... but a nice '66 stang ragtop 289 or a '69 ragtop Firebird is a head turner and something to hold onto, and that's where I'm sure the ragtop thirdgens will head eventually. Not to detract from the t-top and hardtop thirdgens out there... they're going the same way. We'll all be Rt. 66, head-turning, garage-queen-babying geezers with our thirdgens in twenty years, and I think we all know that.

I have so much $$ invested in my car I will never recoupe it. i love my 3rd gen, i dont care what other people say or do, I like it, and I am proud of it... I actually have enough $$ invested I should have sold it and bought that 91-92 Firehawk..

darn it... yeah.
