Holiday COTM **Self-Nomination Thread**
Been a year without Car of The Month. Just doesn't seem right to go through the holidays without one so....
This is a Nomination Thread for cars that will compete for Car of the Month honor.
You can nominate yourself or somebody else. It takes someone to second the nomination to make it to the voting round.
The car must be complete and in excellent condition both inside and out.
Simply share one recent picture with just some basic information, and we'll save the details and stories and photo gallery for the voting thread.
That's it. Let's do this!

Re: Holiday COTM **Self-Nomination Thread**
Alright folks, let's work this out on the fly.... I did this on impulse with no plan.
The way things are going this could be the last COTM ever. We need to make this one for the ages!
I'm thinking throw away the rule book and let the OG's play again. They helped make COTM legendary, so let them help take COTM out in a blaze of glory.
What do you think? Should we have an thirdgen.org Original Gangstas COTM???
(The only way COTM will continue is if somebody does the work. Gotta have a volunteer step up... )

Owned this car since around 91 or so, restored it awhile back, replaced pretty much everything on the car. Now it's a fun car to drive, I love taking it out to the monthly cruises in the summer.

If this is the last hurrah for COTM, this guy (dagwood) needs to be included if for no other reason than he's brought more 3rd gens back from the dead, out of garages and out of barns and sent them on to new owners than anyone else here that I'm aware of. Just picked this '87 Formula out at random from his long list:

I'll play.
This is my 1989 1LE R7U after nut & bolt restoration by the original owner to how it was last raced in September of 1990 (second place finish).
I would also offer to assist with the COTM program in 2024 to keep it going.

Great idea Qwk, certainly always a pleasure to see the nice finished thirdgens out there regardless of voting. hopefully this will still be a thing in some form when at least one of my cars is done in a year or two!

Re: Holiday COTM **Self-Nomination Thread**
There's a part of me that thinks we should have 2 winners and do s "split screen."
It always seems to me, (on Facebook Groups and Forums as well,) that Firebirds get "overwhelmed" and "washed into obscurity" by just sheer numbers of Camaros. Don't get me wrong.....I like Camaros......I'm just a Poncho guy and always have been......and I also realize that there are so much more aftermarket options for Camaros, that sometimes it's difficult to compete on level playing field.
All that being said, I'm not generally a competitive type. I just like to show up and play.

No need to worry about that, Firebirds tend to win COTM more often than Camaros. Since 2019,
Firebird: 27 wins
Camaro 19 wins
Firebird: 27 wins
Camaro 19 wins

Re: Holiday COTM **Self-Nomination Thread**
After nominations are complete, I will send a PM to everyone with information about what are next steps and some hints how to better your chances to win. And when I create the voting thread I place a hold on voting for a day or two to give people a chance to do their write ups before any voting happens. I like everybody to feel like they got a good shot at it.

Wow, we got 8 cars already!
Don't be afraid to keep adding more. I'll just split it up into smaller groups and we'll do this again!

Right now we have 5 COTM first timers and 5 veterans. I'm thinking of splitting up into two groups with the first timers in one, and the veterans in another. This will double chances of winning, and also avoid the voting chaos that happens when the groups get too large.

Want to nominate @Neil350 . He's put a lot of work into it. One of the cleaner GTAs, with near-factory lines and a good bit of time invested tastefully in and out.

Are these cars ever really complete!!! I don't think I've ever had a car I could actually say I'm done with. It's a problem!
