This is the best post in this entire topic.

The only reason I am into this 5th Gen thing is because I want the F-Body to keep going and GM to be the best. I want only Third Gen F-Bodies and I'll always have 1.

Just to add my .02 cents

I was just at the La Auto show and I was talking with one of the GM reps.

He said "Both the Camaro And the Firebird were out" ... he goes on saying that the could have cars to replace them as soon as 2004 ...Their not dead set on any dates or names of the new cars... Saying "They have MANY prototypes that no one knows about that they are trying to narrow down" He said that they are trying to keep in mind of the classic F body

He also went on saying that all of their products are going to be going threw some major changes soon ....and that the new SS truck might be out as soon as 2003 *not that ugly one* but the full size truck that is out now in a SS model Supercharged lowered and smothed out ..It looks really cool

I have one pic that I took but it was a bad angle only got the front corner of it I'll post it in a sec

I wouldn't take what a GM representitive says at an auto show where the focus right now is not on the F-Body, as what is going to happen. They won't really tell anyway. I do know though that they do have many concept cars, but I'm almost sure there will never be a direct replacement for our cars or a car just like them with a different name.

I do agree with what u said about their products getting lots of changes and alot sooner than many think. B.L. and the other new dudes are good for GM. Lets just hope it turns out that way.

To answer to the original post...

I myself, am proud to own a piece of changing moment in the history of automotive craftsmanship. In a time of imports and anemic American performance vehicles, the change in the F-body became a ray of light through the darkness of choked performance vehicles. The F-body re-ignited a past flame of manufacturer wars for the 'baddest' showroom floor performance vehicle. If not for the F-body & the stive to push the envelope for performance with style once again, there is no way performance technology would be to the point it is today. So yes, I feel I have a car that is something to be proud of & is an important piece of automotive history. That's just my opinion, I could be wrong (And hopefully I spelled most everything right at this point )

Stupidity, wastefulness, & laws will be the downfall of all vehicles, performance or not (still my opinion...off to bed 4 mee).
