Re: Hatch louvers or no louvers

Without louvers, in all cases. A relic of the past that didn't look good in the past either.

IMO, the clean, smooth look of the hatch glass is the way to go.

To some degree, I think they look better on a Camaro than they did on a Firebird. But I think they make any car look worse.

I'm the exact opposite. I just put a set on my Firebird over the weekend, and every day when I walk out and see the car, I know I made the right decision.

Camaro with and without. My car had them and they looked great, but there were times I took them off and it still looked great.

They look better on Camaro, but not at all bad on Firebirds either. I prefer without but I think they are ok

Re: Hatch louvers or no louvers

To me, louvers add too much "visual mass" to the rear. I theorize the factory forgot to tint the hatch glass and that is the ideal treatment.

Re: Hatch louvers or no louvers

I used to hate them, but the classic look has grown on me, and now I like 'em. In fact, I have two sets I'm restoring, and will put one of 'em on my 88. I do feel like they date the car, but then, it's an old car! If I had two, I'd have an all original car, definitely WITH louvers, and a restomod, definitely WITHOUT.

Well clearly, you're just wrong!

Just kidding. To each his own. It's not like louvers really kill the look of the car, I just prefer them without.

It's almost like with louvers, the car is rockin its own m u l l e t.
That being said, I'm not a big fan of them.
