Just sayin! Let’s get some more Camaros in COTM to give them some competition!
Firebirds are winning 8-1... We can’t go out like that
Detail your ride, go on a cruise, snap some pics!

Congrats to the birds, but we can’t have people thinking this is just a Firebird site when the type in “thirdgen.org” and see all birds!

C'mon, you aren't going to make us Firebird guys say it, are you? Because I don't want to say that Firebirds are better. Please, don't make me state that simple truth, but I will if I have to.
But seriously, sometimes the lower number of Firebirds givens them an advantage in voting. Like last month, one Firebird vs. three Camaros in the poll. Tends to consolidate the Firebird vote. Although taking nothing away from BigBadGTA - that gunmetal gray convertible is pretty awesome.

Thats why I’m saying the Camaros need to step it up!
I agree, Pontiac seemed to see what Chevy did and always do a little better... It didn’t always get noticed and the market doesn’t reward the Firebirds as much either... I’m glad there’s a strong Firebird presence! But we can’t have the birds winning EVERY month!! geez!

I do think there are times when multiple Camaros in a vote may cancel each other out and hand wins to Firebirds.
I'm sure it was by design that Pontiac did a little better in some ways. Most of it boils down to personal preference. But Pontiacs were a little more expensive and were intended as the first step up in the GM hierarchy.

I know it's true, but I don't really get the higher prices on Camaros. Not that I don't like Camaros and you can give me that Camaro whenever you're ready. Is it the IROC-Z thing? Is it because they still make Camaros. And Chevys? Would Pontiac still being in business have resulted in higher Firebird prices? For me, the fact that Pontiac no longer exists makes the Firebirds even more desirable. Not that I really care about prices. I buy cars for my own enjoyment and really don't care what they might sell for someday.

Hey I love C4 Corvettes and those are cheaper than Firebirds! There’s a lot of factors that go into classic car pricing and demand and “how good a car” or “performance” isn’t always the biggest piece of that. Instantly recognizable cars that are harder to find usually bring more money. There’s definitely a stronger connection through history for most people to Chevy and Camaros than Pontiac and Firebirds. What car is better has no bearing really... Pontiac definitely has a following and I wish they made different decisions to be able to stay in business... Without being a Truck and SUV company these days you can’t make it.
C4 Corvettes have low market value because they were everywhere for a long time and never went away... They wore out their welcome and people just see them as “old cars” and it’s not really exciting to see one. You have to be missed like Thirdgens and Fox bodies were to inspire prices. After the C2 everyone decided to start collecting Corvettes and it has only hurt prices... Less collecting in Thirdgens but enough to where restorations aren’t worth it and there’s not a great business doing accurate restoration parts...
I always liked GTAs and IROCs... I think they have awesome looks

I think Camaros have a bigger name... It was the rival to the Mustang which is a huge name. You get those 69 Camaros selling for big $$$ and it rises more ships.

I totally agree about C4 Corvettes. Some people disrespect them, which I'll never understand. Great looking and great handling car. My two favorite Corvettes are C4 and C7. This video is a recent one about the C4. "The most underrated car in the world."

hittin the nail on the head, not enough people here vote, claimed ~50000 members, but we get 50 people voting. if you have 30 camaro voters and 20 firebird voters (there ARE more camaros) and the 3 camaros get 10votes each.........

Are the statistics accurate regarding active users?
Currently Active Users: 956 (30 members and 926 guests)
The number is always high. It says that these 956 users are the most ever at any one time. I've always been pretty impressed that there's that many hundreds of active users for 28+ year old cars. But most of those users are only guests. I wonder if that number is inflated by advertising bots or something.

Hey, I've been nominated multiple times, but you can only win if the votes are in!

I've always preferred Firebirds, but I don't vote based on that. I try to vote for the best car, best story.
But it's just going to happen that when you have three Camaros and one Firebird in a poll, the three similar cars have a good chance of canceling each other out. Last month was a tough one. Four great convertibles, one a Firebird. It's going to stand out, even if it wasn't the really exceptional example that it was.

I'm pretty much blind to Firebird vs. Camaro. A cool car is a cool car.
This year I've actually been equal between Camaros and Firebirds with the nomination "feature cars" that I find. But I hadn't even thought about it, just worked out that way. And I won't think about it going forward either.
Feature car next month will indeed be a Firebird and it's another cool car.

I also think last month’s was a deserved win by a special and rare car that’s been around a while and missed the win. I think a lot of people thought it was time for that car to win as well. Sometimes it’s timing in COTM and eventually it’s your time.
I’m just hoping to get some new Camaros out of the woodwork to challenge the birds!

Have I really been nominated 13x over the years? I haven't kept count. The best car needs to win, regardless of whose car it is. If not this time, there's always a 14th attempt, right? Or, a 15th?

Actually, it was and than I decided to keep it. Still havent finished it completely though so I've been thinking of selling again. I have one guy who has said he wants it anytime I'm ready to sell.
I built the car for racing and just dont think I'm going to do much with it now.
