I also tripped hard when I first started to get small chips and scratches on my expensive new paint but its my DD and had to learn to deal with it. Took a few years but they do not bother me "that" much any more.
Small dab of "Dupli-Color" paint from one of there applicator bottles with a very fine paint brush ( hobby shop) or even the tip of a tooth pick works well for deep fine scratches.
They make products like "scratch doctor" that seem to get decent reviews.
If its a show car than a good shop should be able to buff it out for you.

Small scratches on paint you can wet sand with Trizact and then compound, polish and wax.
If you can’t feel the scratch with your fingernail it’ll come right out.
If it’s deeper, clean it with alcohol, dry it, paint it, sand just the new paint bubble carefully (even tape off surrounding paint) so it’s flat, then use Trizact wet sand to remove the 1500 grit, then compound, polish, wax.
Sometimes you have to use the compound over the area a few times if you’re doing it by hand..
If you’re fine with just touching it up and not trying to make it invisible, just do that!
I have spent 45 minutes fixing up a stone chip before, but that’s not for everyone..
