I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right place, but I would like a little advice/tips. I really like the way that cars look in some of the videos/edits on YouTube and such. My question is, what does it take to make these videos? Just steady camera, basic editing and good angles? Or have a really good camera, great editing skills and a sexy looking car? I can do some minor editing and I guess I'm okay with a camera(my iPhone) haha. May look into getting a better camera down the road as I like taking pictures of cars and would like to get into video too. As said before any advice is greatly appreciated and needed, I'm still pretty new to this. Example of the videos I am talking about:

Re: Car videos

Says in the credits that they used a Canon 60D and used Final Cut Pro x for editing.
Here is another cool one.

Re: Car videos

It's all in the editing. All of it. Your raw footage is going to be boring and dull, and the editing is what makes the video on most occasions. I've seen edited short films on youtube of guys just washing their cars, but after the edit, some how it becomes very interesting. I bought a gopro hero black edition hoping to make some good edited videos, and it's harder than it looks by far. I'm still learning, and one day I will be able to make professional edits, most likely with a better camera. But practice is the only way to do so.

So I have a camera that I can use (canon rebel T3i) just never really thought about taking videos with it. I always thought that these edits on YouTube were made with more video specific cameras. I also have an editing software that I picked up a while back (not sure which one off the top of my head). So from the sounds of it all I need is time, a lot of footage and even more patience haha! I watched some videos from ThatDudeInBlue's YouTube channel about filming this stuff and am now considering picking up a tripod and camera slider. Thanks for the input guys, and anymore advice is appreciated!

Re: Car videos

With a couple of Go-Pro's and Windows Live Moviemaker you can make decent videos in little to no time. Here's a couple of mine - first one is my 71 Tropical Lime Judge and the other is with my 71 GT-37 - both 455HO/autos.
