What Cleaning Products Do You Guys Use?

Until today I have used Meguiar's to wash the car, wax the car, and everything in between.

I ran out of the car wash soap about two weeks ago and finally decided to get some this morning, I planned on getting the same stuff as usual but the Eagle One stuff really caught my attention. It was most likely the cool car right on the front and the fact that it was a "wax as u wash" type thing oh and it was on sale.

So I decided to get that and some eagle one tire shine...

I finally washed it about an hour ago and I must say I am impressed... After completely drying it, cleaning the windows (happened to have an Eagle One windshield cleaner laying around lol) and hitting the tires I took a step back and looked up at the car. I literally exclaimed "damn!"

I have not washed the car in about a month because it has been down for an intake swap and still is, but I feel like the car has not looked this clean ever with only a wash. Usually I have to wash it twice and wax it before it looks as good. Maybe the wax as u wash thing actually works..

I use Car Brite Sleek polish, Meguiars synthetic wax, and adams detail spray. Interior and tires get the silk shine from Chemical Guys.

Re: What Cleaning Products Do You Guys Use?

I've been a detailing enthusiast for a while now, just got a 92 and thought I'd share some of my favorite products.

Eagle One Wheel and Tire Cleaner (otc product, cheap, works really well)
Eagle One Tire Gel (good shine, no sling)
Collinite #845 Liquid Wax (by far the best wax you can get without paying $100)
Griots Garage 6" DA Polisher Rev. 3
Meg's M105 Cutting Compound
Meg's M205 Polishing Compound
Simple Green (engine and wheel well degrease)
Poorboy's Black Hole Glaze (gorgeous on dark cars)
Blackfire Wet Diamond Paint Sealant
Optimum No-Rinse Waterless Wash

If you guys want a product recommendation or have any questions I'd be happy to help

I use Simple Green for the engine, wheels, and most interior surfaces other than glass. I tend to stay away from Armorall anymore.

Re: What Cleaning Products Do You Guys Use?

With new paint I had to decide to use natural wax or go totally synthetic .

I chose synthetic and am really glad I did.

My paint has never see any product with wax in it.

Heres what I use instead. = http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotiv...ate-wax-paste/

That and a Californa Duster and
Meguiars Gold Class Shampo and Conditioner.
Meguiars Hot Shine for the tires.
Just soap and water is used on the wheels.
That's the nice thing about the clear coated aluminum.
Last is Race Glaze once a year = http://www.raceglaze.com/welcome2.html

and this to dry =

That's basically it.

Here's the car after six years of DD.

Hoping to try that Optimum no rinse. Looks great for cars that don't need a heavy cleaning.

One more for the Meg's 105/205 combo. Also, Black Hole glaze on a dark car works pretty well.

I think good products are important, but it's also important to know how to use them properly. In fact, I feel the later is probably more important

I just bought a bottle of 303 protectant for my Dash in the vert. Seems to work good and does not leave the plastics super shiny.

I was using Meguiars natural shine and always liked it but the dash and plastics in the Mustang did not look good with it, and every time I got caught in a few drops of rain, the stuff would run. i am hoping to have better luck with 303. Seems good so far and I buffed it out with a wet cloth as per directions and I like the look.

Re: What Cleaning Products Do You Guys Use?

I am authorized retailers of Chemical Guys, Griot's Garage, and Solution Finish (trim restoration products) product lines in the NJ?NY/PA area, along with some other products we can source.

There are so many products out there to choose from - Chemical Guys makes about 10 different vinyl/tire dressings, so it can be confusing. There is also a stigma of the highest price products being the best - not true in most cases.

That said, I cannot fault the Meguiar's pro line (M105/M205 are examples), P21s, Sonax or some other brands. You don't need a $300 wax as the $50 ones will give you 99% of the effect for 1/6 the price. I sell a product called fabric clean by CG, which cleans carpets, floormats, and fabric seats - a 16oz bottle goes for $8. But guess what, it dilutes 20:1, so you get 336oz of cleaner and it works better than anything I ever tried. Ditto for a lot of the car washes where you only need 1oz to wash a car - so that $25/gallon wash does 125 cars, yet is one of the best out there.

I use Turtle Wax buffing and polishing compound, Turtle Wax hard shell wax with a layer of carnuba wax on top. As for soap, I've tried multiple types with not much different between them

I have used JAX WAX on my '83 Z for many years, and love it ! ! IMO, this is the Best product that I have ever used.

Jax Wax is VERY popular here in Arizona, it holds up very well in our 110-115*f + summer temps, keeps a great long lasting shine, and is gentle on your paint.

I like Simple Green for cleaning under the hood & the undercarriage.

Washing the body . Sorry can't help you there, I have only washed my car 4 times in the past 5 years. And that's only because I got caught in the rain while out of town.
