Re: A great craigslist find

How can this be from the movie "great ***** of Fire" when the movie was about Jerry Lee Lewis back in the 1950's? Or is there another movie with the same name? Or is it from "***** of Fury"

I'm with rest of you on this one, up here you can get decent 3rd gens all day long under 3500, I doubt he'll get 1/3 of his asking price. Maybe he can keep the house & give her the car, LOL.....Divorce must suck...........

Re: A great craigslist find

Right. I'm betting he's the buyer from the Barrett-Jackson auction. I looked and since that car can't be from Great ***** of Fire. It isn't from ***** of Fury either that I remember. I've seen both movies.

Re: A great craigslist find

Great ***** of Fire was made in 1989, so the car "could " be in it.

Many movies aren't know for their historical accuracy as far as cars are concerned.

I haven't seen the movie in years so I cant' say for sure.

The car looks a lot like on Superstar Bill Dundee had back in the 80's when he was wrestling in Memphis! Not that anyone here has any idea what i'm talking about now!

Re: A great craigslist find

Wasn't the movie based in the 50's though? I highly doubt they made that kind of mistake in that movie.

Re: A great craigslist find

Well according to rottin tomatoes it was56-59, so yeah that car SHOULD NOT be in the movie, but I can't say for sure it wasn't.

As far as accuracy, you should hear the fender guitar guys complain about the guitars in the buddy holly movie.
1950s movie, 1970s guitars

Re: A great craigslist find

There comes a time when some people actually believe that they can every dime back that they invested in a super custom ride. Well in this guys case he is trying to double his money. Take the paint and body work out of the equation and you have an '87 camaro with busted wipers, a cracked dash, and a filthy interior that is worth $3000. Which is probably what he paid for it in 2011 at the Barrett Jackson Auction. (The second link is from 2011 and his CL add is from two months ago.

My guess is his wife is divorcing him because he bought that monstrosity lol!
