those tires are a bit squeezed on a 10.5" wheel no? did you cut the wheel openings larger to fit the tire when you turn? Im using 18x10.5 wheels and 295/35/18 in the front and the fit is very good, but i cant imagine going any wider without some sheetmetal work.

He, he....yep, the tail lights turned our pretty good. Thanks for the compliments ont he wheels.....I figured the wheels would give it a updated look. I think I accomplished that.

BTW - The paint job on your car looks really good! I'm sure it looks even better in person.

Yes, its a squeeze....but I prefer a wider tire on a narrow wheel. I like the tires to bulge, it makes the wheels look even deeper. Yes, I did have to do some hammering and trim the lower part of my front fenders. I also rolled the lips and had to use a 1.5" shim to flare out the lower rear, of the front fenders. Took some patience and a lot of mounting and dismounting, for test fitting. But it worked out.

Wheels look like the 5 spoke ZR1's...not sure if they're 17" or 18" though. Rear is probably 11" wide. And I believe the hood is the jongbloed style hood.

I'm quite familiar with ZR-1 wheels. I have a 95 ZR-1. I have 2 extra sets of the those wheels. I am curious what spacer thickness is used on the set-up. That's how I would like mine to look. Is the owner a member here?

The rear is a stock Camaro 9 bolt from an '88 IROC with no modifications. The stock suspension is used in the rear as lowering it would put the massive tires (13" across) into the wheel-well or the fender lip will gouge into the tire on rough roads. I put 1" fabricated steel spacers under the rubber axle bumpers to keep the tires from hitting the lip on rough roads and this works well although I drove without that for over a year so you might be fine just rolling the lip a little bit or avoiding excessively rough pavement. The front has eibach lowering springs (~1.5" drop) and work fine.

89 305 and th700 swap into an 85 Volvo 740. 3.73 rear end, Aluminum hood, about 3200 lbs mostly stock, ignition upgrades, freeflow exhaust, lowered, big sway bars, bilstein shocks, struts, some poly bushings. Now has 16x7 BBS rs classic 3 piece wheels on it

4th gen style SS hood 4th gen rear axle and rims and 4th gen Dash Complete it had a 383 LT4 and 6 speed was unique when I did it back in 2003 but not so much now so its going to be unique because its getting a 6.6 liter with a 4l80e and 0 spark plugs

I no longer have the car, but years ago I had a '86 Firebird SE that was special ordered by the original owner. He could not afford insurance on a TransAm so he ordered the SE with the LG4 - T5 combo. Had a 3.73 disk brake rear axle with a limited slip diff, overhead console, power locks but manual windows. Grey on grey with 15x7 crosslace wheels.. Never did measure the sway bars, but certainly did look about the same a a WS-6 car and felt like it too. Very fast steering box. Car had some rather "exciting" oversteer characteristics, particularly in the rain. I believe that the SE was not supposed to be available with that axle setup, nor the suspension or steering box, but there it was. If the numbers from the history page (https://www.thirdgen.org/1986-pontia...rebird_history) are correct, there were only 2259 SEs built total and this one had an unlisted drivetrain combo for a SE and an odd option list so it may have been one of one built. I think that qualifies as unique, yes?

I'm assuming most people didn't catch on to the fact that you have a duramax diesel engine sitting in the bay of a 3rd gen in this pic...lol. Odd swap, but pretty cool nonetheless. It's not going to be a handling machine, thats for sure. But I'm sure people will be scratching their heads when you fire that thing up!

Much much more but thats the basics. It was the first to complete a full 4th gen theme on this site. There was a few others in the process at the time but mine was the first done. ...Then I sold it. but now you see them all over the place on the net, the road, everywhere.

That color looks sweat as hell, just as nice as I remember and it doesnt need all the flashy hood/spoiler like I had. Looks great even with a stock body.

You killed me on engine though looks great.

Thanks man! I actually considered the 4th gen interior during the build, but I ended up sticking with the 3rd gen interior for the main reason that everybody has a 4th gen interior now lol. The car has way too much custom work to list, but if you checked out my build thread you'd see what I mean. And I'm pretty sure I saved a picture of your old prowler orange bird on my computer as part of my motivation to do mine that color.

Heres my interior layout...simple, yet effective, and it keeps it's 3rd gen roots which I really like. I have corbeau LG1 seats in it as well which you can't really see in the pic, and custom door panels are on the way as we speak.

Thanks! I was actually thinking about repainting it, but will probably hold off. This paint job is about 8 years old.

I've gone back and fourth about the buckets. But think it would just make it a little too busy with the stripes and stuff if I did black them out.

I think what is going to make my camaro unique is that I am putting a hawks 5" spoiler on my 92 z28 convertible. This process has been a pain in the @$$ but it's almost there. The trunk deck is higher than the stock one and has a different shape at the back curve so i had to cut about 4" off the back and add 4" off the original t-top style trunk. it steps down now so the 3 pieces of the spoiler match up and I will mold in the rest so the step down is gone. Will post pics when done.

full decal set, 350 small block (not fuel injected of regular carburetor, obd1 computer controlled carburetor, i hate it so much but hey, its unique) and im currentely looking into a custom grill (thats why my bumper just has that empty hole there) wanting to get a plasma cut sheet of stainless steel with "PONTIAC - FIREBIRD" on it.

I've got two third gens with custom paint

The Firebird is a 92 with the green off a 2000s Honda Odyssey with a little more black in it as well as Green, emerald, and silver pearl. Car looks black unless its Sunny. It also has the LED dash mod, built 350, 3 inch y-pipe and some other things like 4th gen seats.

The Camaro is a 91, basicaly stock, painted the factory color with black stripes that have red metal flake in them and they turn a metallic tan in direct sunlight.

Paint and wheels definitely brings people in, exhaust sound turns heads like crazy. And people are always surprised when I pop the hood.

It might not be 100% unique, but around here I have yet to see anything even close to it.
